This time, Hanley's plea was sincere, and Natalie suddenly felt a wave of sadness.
She sighed softly and went to a cabinet, pulling out a box of pills.
Hanley saw the box and immediately rushed forward, snatching it from her. "Mommy, will this medicine cure Grandma's illness?" he asked excitedly.
Before Natalie could answer, Hanley stared at the box and said, "Mommy, you could have cured Grandma all along, but you deliberately said you couldn't. Did you just have to make me beg you? Mommy, you're just as dramatic as Grandma always said you were!"
Lucas felt his fists clench again. If they weren't in front of Natalie, and if this brat wasn't her son, he would have knocked him flat.
"I can't cure your grandmother's paralysis. This medicine will only lessen her pain and improve her condition, but it's not a cure."
Hanley froze, his expression turning to one of disbelief. "Mommy, what did you say? This medicine can't cure my grandmother? If it can't cure her, why did you give it to me?"
With that, he angrily threw the box of medicine onto the floor, as if Natalie had deceived him.
This time, Lucas was truly enraged. He stepped forward and shoved Hanley.
As Natalie gathered the pills, Hanley just stood there, watching. Only Lucas knelt beside her, carefully searching the floor to make sure not a single one was missed.
Hearing his mother's words, Hanley frowned.
After picking up the last pill, Lucas stood up. "Hanley, do you think every illness in the world can be cured? Natalie might not be able to cure your grandmother's paralysis, but she said these pills can ease her pain and improve her symptoms. The extent of that improvement will depend on how her body reacts. You can't just blame Natalie because your grandmother got sick and can't be cured. When you need her, you treat her like an all-powerful god, and when you don't, you belittle her. Let me tell you something, Natalie is just a person, a normal person who needs to be cared for!"
For the first time, a look of shame appeared on Hanley's face. He snatched the pills from Natalie's hand. "Mommy, I'm sorry. I was wrong just now. I was just upset when I heard you couldn't cure Grandma. But since this medicine can improve her condition, I'll take it back for her to try. I hope you can continue to research other medicines, hopefully one that can make Grandma healthy again."

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
