Darren grabbed Natalie's arm, his eyes sharp and angry. "Natalie, you accomplished something today, but this is our sister-in-law. How could you hit her?"
"Darren, she hit me first. Are you just not going to mention that? Are you selectively blind?"
Victoria chimed in from the side, screeching, "It's Marie! Marie hitting you is her way of teaching you a lesson. How dare you retaliate? Your life has clearly been too comfortable."
At that moment, Hanley also rushed to Marie's side. "Auntie, does your face hurt? Mommy is so barbaric. Don't mind her. Let me blow on it for you."
Seeing Hanley protecting her, Marie's arrogance swelled. "See? Even a child knows who to protect. You're only fit to do our laundry and cook our meals, to be a maid. Did you really think you were the lady of the house?"
Natalie looked at Hanley, who was shielding Marie—the child she had carried for ten months.
He hadn't seen her get hit; he only cared about Marie.
Suddenly, she found it laughable that she had been planning to take him with her.
How utterly ridiculous.
Why would he ever want to go with her?
"I don't care what my status is in this house. Because I am divorcing Darren! This family, and all the trash in it, has nothing to do with me anymore!"
Natalie turned to Darren. "I'll have the divorce papers sent over. Make sure you sign them!"
Her son had truly broken her heart.
A passport, leaving the country—none of it was necessary anymore.
Let him stay with his auntie.
Seeing Natalie about to leave, Darren quickly grabbed her. "The partnership is secured, and I'm not blaming you anymore. What are you still so upset about?"
But Marie blocked her path, her expression full of contempt. "Natalie, are you in such a hurry to leave because you stole my authentic painting? You are truly despicable!"
Natalie let out a cold laugh. "Marie, are you refusing to admit your painting is a fake just to protect your reputation as a woman of culture? Too bad. Mistaking a forgery for the real thing only proves your incompetence!"
Marie's face turned green with rage. She was used to being the one to bully and belittle Natalie. How had the tables turned so completely?
"Natalie, you swapped the painting I was going to give Old Mr. Fairchild with a fake, then publicly exposed it and claimed you painted it, tricking him into thinking you were highly skilled so you could steal the partnership! You used me as a stepping stone, stole my success. You are shameless!"
"'Shameless' is a word that suits you much better."
Natalie's gaze was sharp, sending a chill down Marie's spine.
"Natalie, you stole my painting and now you dare to insult me? Give my painting back, or I'm calling the police!"

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
