Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 405

“And what about you?” Natalie’s gaze was cold. “What gives you the right to humiliate me and do whatever you want to me?”

Darren froze, staring at Natalie. The look in her eyes was filled with grief and indignation.

Marie suddenly grabbed the corner of Darren’s shirt. “Darren, don’t blame Natalie. It’s all my fault. All I want is for Natalie to forgive me. Only if she forgives me can we have a future. Only then can the Ward Group and the Cross Group have a future. For our future, I’d be willing to bash my head in.”

Marie looked utterly pathetic. Just then, Terence spoke in a cold voice, “Are you done? If you are, get up and tell me if this is the necklace you lost.”

Marie was in the middle of bowing her head to the floor when she heard Terence’s voice. Her entire body went rigid.

What did he mean by that?

Trembling, Marie lifted her head. Terence was holding out his phone, displaying a photo of a necklace. It was the very same one her deceased ex-husband, Darren’s older brother, had given her.

How did Terence have a picture of that necklace?

Marie’s voice quivered. “Mr. Lockwood, I’m a little dizzy from… all this. Necklaces can look so similar, and it’s hard to tell for sure just from a photo.”

She could see it perfectly clearly. It was indeed the necklace, worth tens of millions of dollars. But the person showing her the picture was Terence. She wasn't an idiot; she couldn't just admit it so easily.

Terence scoffed. “Do you think you’re incredibly clever? That your words are airtight?”

Marie quickly tried to explain.

Terence’s voice suddenly turned grim. “Have you figured it out yet? Is this the necklace your mistress lost or not?”

His tone grew colder, and Martha trembled with fear.

“Mr. Lockwood, I’m sorry,” she stammered. “My old eyes are failing me. I can’t quite see if this is the one our mistress lost.”

Unsure whether to confirm or deny, Martha decided to follow her mistress’s lead and play dumb.

Hearing Martha’s uncertainty, Terence’s expression darkened. His voice was sharp as ice. “If you can’t even confirm whether this is the necklace Marie lost, how can you testify that Mrs. Peterson stole it?”
