“Hanley, come over here first,” Natalie said nervously. “Let’s talk this out calmly!”

Natalie tried to remember what she had said to make her son so agitated. She knew she shouldn’t have pushed him.

“No! I don’t want to! Mommy, you’re doing this for power and status! You want to marry their dad and abandon me and my daddy. I’m so sad. You’re going to be someone else’s mommy, and you won’t even leave me my auntie. What am I going to do?”

Hanley was emotional. His grandma had told him that he was his mother's weak spot.

He was sure he could pressure his mom into freeing his aunt.

Lucas said, “Hanley, get down from there. Is this how you treat your mother? Are you even her son?”

“You’re all trying to steal my mommy! This is ridiculous. You have your own mother, but you insist on clinging to mine. Do you just think other people’s things are better, so you have to snatch them away? You’re horrible!”

Hanley roared hysterically. Natalie tried to calm him, but Hanley wouldn’t listen.

Just then, Terence walked in.

“Hanley, you’re not wrong,” he said. “They have their own mother and shouldn’t be trying to take yours. I apologize to you on their behalf.”

Lucas and Liana were stunned by their father’s words.

They didn’t have a mother, did they? Why was their dad saying they did?

Hanley sneered at Lucas. “Did you hear that? Even your dad says you have your own mother. Why are you clinging to mine? Go find your own mom.”

Natalie’s heart skipped a beat.
