Hanley remained sitting on the railing, motionless. Lucas urged him on.
“Hanley, hurry up and get down! It’s dangerous up there. Natalie’s worried.”
“This… this is between me and my mom! Stay out of it!” Hanley snapped.
At that moment, Liana tugged on Lucas's sleeve, gesturing to him.
Lucas frowned, then looked at Hanley. “Hanley, is there something you’re trying to blackmail Natalie into doing?”
Caught off guard, Hanley stammered, “What are you talking about? I’m not trying to blackmail my mom! I’m just angry that she’s taking your side, that’s why I’m on this railing.”
Terence spoke with a steady voice. “You heard what I said. Natalie will only be your mother. You’re her biological son, the one she worries about and cares for the most. You don’t need to do something so dangerous to get her attention.”
Terence’s words put Hanley in an extremely awkward position.
It seemed unreasonable for him not to come down now, but the issue with his aunt was still unresolved.
Bracing himself, Hanley said, “Mommy, if you want me to come down, fine. But you have to promise me one thing.”
Lucas shrugged. So much for not blackmailing Natalie.
“What do you want me to do?” Natalie asked.
Natalie had assumed her son was just acting out, probably wanting her to leave the Lockwood family.
“Auntie is Auntie, and Mommy is Mommy. But I don’t want to see her go to jail. She’s a good person. I can’t let her go to prison. That would be disloyal.”
Lucas interjected angrily, “Disloyal? Threatening your own mother like this is what's disloyal! Pleading for the person who hurt your mother is what's disloyal! Besides, your aunt is going to jail because she tried to murder her own brother. What does that have to do with Natalie?”
“I know what kind of person my aunt is. She’s a kind-hearted woman. How could she possibly harm her own brother? This is all just a means of revenge. Others might not know, but how could I not? She’s my auntie, of course I know her!”
Natalie stared at Hanley. “So you think she's the victim and the one behind all this just wants to send your aunt to prison?”
“Mommy, I know it’s not you. You don’t have that kind of power,” Hanley said, then looked pointedly at Terence. “But someone else can do it for you.”
In Hanley’s eyes, Terence was the one who had orchestrated his aunt’s arrest. He didn’t believe in any of the evidence. It had to be a setup, a trap laid by Terence using his power and influence.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
