Terence sneered, “When did the Lockwood Group start letting in circus acts?”
The man’s expression soured for a moment before he burst out laughing.
“Calling me a circus act? We come from the same family tree. Why be so cruel? If I’m from the circus, that doesn’t reflect well on you either, does it, Terence?”
“My son is far too young to have a grandson like you. Crawl back to whatever hole you came from.”
Terence’s gaze was glacial. The man was so enraged he almost choked.
A cripple, and yet his words were so venomous!
“Is that any way to treat your cousin on our first meeting? Don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you. After all, I was personally tutored by our grandfather, Edgar Lockwood. Naturally, I possess more of the Lockwood family’s character than you do!”
A jolt went through Terence. Edgar Lockwood was his grandfather’s name.
But his grandfather had died at the young age of twenty-six.
How could he possibly be this punk’s grandfather?
“Calling you a circus act was giving you too much credit. You belong in a mental asylum. If you can’t afford treatment, the Lockwood family can spare some charity. But remember this: my grandfather’s name is not something you can use for your fraudulent schemes.”
“Cousin, why are you so fierce? Oh, you’re scaring poor Simon. Allow me to introduce myself. I am your cousin, Simon Lockwood. Grandfather himself gave me this name. ‘Simon.’ Doesn’t that show you how important I am to him?”
Terence’s brow furrowed. He refused to believe something so absurd. His grandfather, who had been dead for years, was somehow still alive and had even started another branch of the family.
No one in the conference room noticed an elderly woman standing at the door. She had weathered many storms, yet carried herself with an indomitable air. It was Old Mrs. Lockwood, Grace Lockwood.
Hadn’t her father-in-law been dead for fifty years? How could he be alive?
If he was alive, why hadn’t he shown himself all these years?
The old matriarch had worked so hard to maintain the Lockwood family, only to find out her husband had been living with another woman and having children? The pain she must be feeling was unimaginable.
Grace Lockwood could no longer contain her fury.
She stormed into the room, her voice filled with rage and pride. “Where did this young punk come from, spouting such nonsense? My husband, Edgar Lockwood, died at the age of twenty-six during that chaotic era. He left behind only one son, my son! And my son has only one child, Terence. Where did a grandson like you come from? Who are you to come here and impersonate family?”
Simon casually sized up Grace Lockwood. “You’re a bit prettier than my grandmother,” he said. “But you’re not as gentle. No wonder my grandfather didn’t choose you. You’re too fierce.”

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
