Mrs. Lockwood was about to tiptoe out of the room to give Natalie and Terence some privacy.
After all, her son was finally catching on, and she wasn't going to be so clueless as to get in his way. But just as Mrs. Lockwood quietly reached for the door, she heard a commotion outside.
"Hey, little mute, don't you have eyes? Why'd you just ram into me like that? What's wrong with you?"
Little mute?
The three people inside the room tensed up at once. They were talking about Liana.
Natalie immediately opened the door and went out.
Lucas was shielding Liana, glaring defiantly at Simon. "My sister and I were playing and we didn't see you. I'll apologize for her, but you have to apologize to my sister, too. What right do you have to call her a little mute?"
Though Lucas was small, he had a powerful presence, and he stood his ground when it came to his sister.
Simon looked down his nose at Lucas. "What a protective big brother. But was I wrong? She is a little mute. Otherwise, have her say something. If she can talk, I'll apologize."
Liana's face turned bright red, her little hands clenched into fists.
"You damn! If you won't listen to reason, I'll have to teach you a lesson!"
Lucas launched a flying kick straight at Simon.
Simon didn't expect the sudden attack and couldn't dodge in time. The kick landed squarely on his chest, sending him to the floor.
He was stunned. This was just a kid. How could he kick so hard?
As members of the Lockwood family, they had all learned taekwondo, and this kid's kick was unusually powerful.
"You little brat, you dare to hit me? Let's see how I deal with you."
Edgar looked toward Natalie and the others, his expression stern. "Even though she's just a little girl, and the Lockwood family doesn't favor boys over girls, having a mute in the family is an embarrassment!"
Simon added scornfully, "Who knows who her mother is. Maybe she's a mute too. A mute mother for a mute daughter. More importantly, she was born but not raised. She doesn't even know to apologize after bumping into someone!"
Liana's face flushed an even deeper shade of red.
[My mommy isn't a mute! It's not a mute mother and a mute daughter! It's not!]
Liana gestured frantically, her doe-eyes filling with tears.
Natalie tried to comfort her, but Liana turned and signed to her.
[Natalie, Liana isn't a child who was born but not raised. You're Liana's mommy, right?]

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
