Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 547

Liana's face was flushed, her eyes filled with sorrow.

The sight broke Natalie's heart, making it hard to breathe.

How could they? How could they say such things to a child? To Liana?

Simon glanced at Edgar Lockwood with a look of disdain. "Grandpa, look. What is this little girl doing? Waving her hands around like a monkey at the zoo. It's hilarious."

Before Terence and the others could reprimand him, Natalie's eyes darkened. "You looking to lose some teeth? Laugh one more time, and Liana's father and brother will make sure you're picking them up off the floor."

Simon felt a phantom pain in his jaw and immediately shut his mouth.

But he still looked at Natalie scornfully. "What did I say that was wrong? She is a little mute. She does look like a monkey waving her hands around. And she was clearly born but not raised!"

"Who says Liana doesn't have a mother? I am her mother!"

Never before had Natalie felt so determined to be Liana's mother. She would become her mother, and she would never let anyone say Liana was a child without manners again.

Liana looked at Natalie, her heart swelling with emotion.

She glanced at her brother, who nodded at her.

They had a mommy now. No one would laugh at them anymore.

Simon sneered, "Natalie, you're a divorced woman who wants to be their mother? Don't think we don't know what you're after. Trying to marry up, are we? You're not qualified."

"Whether Natalie is qualified or not is hardly for you to decide."

She looked at Edgar with disgust. "Sir, no one wants to pull rank with you. But you shouldn't be so quick to jump to your grandson's defense. A moment ago, when he was bullying a child, you didn't say a word. That's hardly how a senior family member should behave!"

"Are you insulting me?"

"Sir, you're overthinking things. Why would I insult you? I was just worried that with age, your eyes and ears might be failing you, preventing you from seeing someone bullying a child. To speak so cruelly to a little girl... one has to wonder about his upbringing."

Mrs. Lockwood's words were like a series of slaps across Simon's face.

All he could do was seethe with rage.

Simon tugged on Edgar's sleeve again and whispered, "Grandpa, stand up for me!"

Edgar said angrily, "You don't have to make veiled insults. I am the true head of the Lockwood family. In the years I've been away, look at the mess you've all made of this family. The head of the family is a cripple, and his child is a mute. If the Lockwood ancestors knew, they would roll in their graves!"
