Grace replied, "You're such a smooth-talker."
Mrs. Lockwood was now questioning her sanity.
"Mom, do you even know who he is?"
Mrs. Lockwood's voice nearly cracked.
Grace said nonchalantly, "Of course I do. He's my grandson, Simon. But... who are you?"
Mrs. Lockwood felt a surge of panic. She'd been so preoccupied with the Marie situation that she'd let her guard down, allowing this old bastard and his young scoundrel to take advantage. It was clear that while they were distracted, the old man had been brainwashing her mother-in-law.
Simon was incredibly smug. He was an expert in romance, so teaching his grandfather how to wrap an old woman around his finger had been easy.
Now, the old woman was blissfully happy, believing she and her grandfather had lived a long, wonderful life together, surrounded by a loving family.
She thought she was the luckiest woman in the world.
Natalie stepped forward and gently took Grace's wrist to check her pulse. Her physical condition was stable. It wasn't that her Alzheimer's had worsened; she had been brainwashed.
Those two had been working on the old woman tirelessly while no one was watching.
It was despicable. He had deceived her in her youth, and now he was deceiving her in her old age!
Mrs. Lockwood quickly grabbed Grace's hand. "Mom, it's me, your daughter-in-law! This is Natalie, this is your grandson, Terence, and these are your beloved great-grandchildren!"
"Great-grandma."
Hearing Lucas call out to her, Grace was overjoyed. She turned to Edgar and said, "Edgar, look at our great-grandson. He's so adorable. It's just a shame our great-granddaughter is so beautiful but can't speak."
"But I'm the one who's failed. How could I have forgotten all the years we've spent together?"
Simon said, "Grandma, it doesn't matter if you've forgotten the past. What matters is the happy ending. Grandpa is here with you now, and all of us, your grandchildren, are here for you too. Grandma, you're the most beautiful, happiest, and most blessed old woman in the world."
"Well, a life as happy as ours is certainly something to be proud of."
Mrs. Lockwood was so furious she could have burst. So this was how the little bastard and the old bastard had been sweet-talking her mother-in-law while they were away.
"Mom, don't let them fool you! This little thing isn't your..."
Mrs. Lockwood wanted to tell her mother-in-law the truth—that Simon wasn't her grandson, that he was the son of a mistress—but Simon cut her off.
"Grandma, I think you're looking much better lately. A few days ago, when you were unconscious and coughing up blood, I was so worried. I was afraid you wouldn't make it. But you must have been worried about Grandpa being lonely, so you fought through it. I'm so glad."

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
