Elaine shoved Richard away and roared, “You actually believe her! She gave me poison, and you want to feed it to me? Are you trying to kill me, too? It wasn’t enough for her to kill our daughter, now she wants to kill me, and you’re taking her side?”
Richard said, “I don’t believe she is a malicious person.”
Natalie’s expression was complicated.
“Not a malicious person? If she wasn’t, would my daughter be lying here on the floor? I have never in my life met someone so shameless, trying to force her way into being my daughter. It’s pathetic! I will never forget how you caused my son’s death. I’ll hold onto that grudge and settle all our scores, new and old.”
Natalie ignored Elaine’s hysterical outburst.
Marie had collapsed, and the hotel staff had administered first aid, bandaging her wound while they waited for the ambulance to arrive.
Natalie walked over to Marie, took out a silver needle, and prepared to perform acupuncture.
Elaine immediately grabbed her wrist. “What do you think you’re doing?” she hissed. “You venomous woman, are you still not done trying to harm my daughter? You deserve to die!”
“She’s unconscious,” Natalie said calmly. “I was just going to use the needle to wake her up.”
“We don’t need your crocodile tears. Get away from her!”
Elaine shielded Marie, refusing to let Natalie get any closer. Natalie immediately put her needles away.
She pulled them back quickly, as if even the air around Marie might taint her needles. In truth, she had only taken them out for show.
“Fine, if you don’t want my help,” Natalie said coolly. “After all, she’s only pretending.”
“Why are you stopping me? She killed our son, and now she’s driven our daughter to this! What’s wrong with teaching her a lesson?”
“We don’t know the full story yet. Don’t be rash.”
Richard’s mind was in turmoil. Could Natalie really be their daughter?
“What is there to not understand? Have you gone senile? Is it like Marie said? Have you been bewitched by her, thinking she’s our daughter? I think you’ve lost your mind! How could a woman like that possibly be our child? The one lying on the floor is Marie, our daughter! She’s on the verge of death because of Natalie, and you’re still defending her? You’re a foolish old man!”
Lying on the floor, pretending to be unconscious, Marie felt a surge of triumph.
She knew this victim act would work. Look at Elaine, so scared of losing her daughter right after losing her son that she was practically out of her mind.

Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
