The more chaos Elaine caused, the better. It would be best if she beat Natalie to death, and even better if she could force Richard to finally sign the share transfer agreement.
It would make lying here on this cold floor, playing dead, all worth it.
Natalie looked down at Marie. She was supposed to be unconscious, but the corners of her mouth were twitching, struggling to hold back a smile. She was clearly pleased with herself, believing she had Elaine wrapped around her finger.
“You two, stop fighting,” Natalie said. “As I said, I have a gift for the Ward family. A gift to wish you peace and a happy reunion.”
At Natalie’s words, Elaine’s anger flared even brighter. She pointed a trembling finger at Natalie and screamed.
“My son is dead because of you! My daughter has one foot in the grave because of you! And now you wish us peace and a reunion? I see your malicious intent. You are despicable!”
Elaine tried to lunge at Natalie again, but Richard held her back firmly.
He couldn’t let Elaine attack Natalie. But why would Natalie say such a thing?
For the Ward family, who was mourning the loss of their son, the word “reunion” was completely inappropriate.
Lying on the floor, Marie could barely contain herself. If she weren’t pretending to be unconscious, she would have jumped up and hurled a few more accusations at Natalie.
Her brother was dead, yet Natalie was talking about a reunion. It was a blatant mockery of the Ward family, a curse upon them all. It was sure to send Elaine into another frenzy, maybe even slap Natalie a few times. What a pity she was stuck on the floor playing dead and couldn’t join in.
Just then, she felt someone kick her twice.
Natalie looked down at Marie. “Give it up, Marie. If you keep playing the martyr, you’re going to miss the grand finale.”
Natalie nudged Marie with her foot again. Marie hesitated. Should she get up and sling more mud at Natalie? But if she did that, wouldn’t it prove she could hear everything and had been faking it? Better to stay put.
Marie remained motionless. At that moment, Natalie spoke towards the door.
Marie was so terrified she couldn’t even scream.
No, that’s not right. It must be the blood loss, a hallucination. How could that be Marcus Ward? It was impossible. Marcus Ward was dead.
Marie tried to reassure herself, but her body wouldn’t stop trembling.
When Elaine and Richard saw Marcus walk in, they were beyond stunned.
Elaine was so shocked she didn’t dare approach him. Marcus walked up to Elaine and Richard and said, “Mom, Dad. It’s me. I’m sorry for making you worry.”
As Marcus spoke, his eyes welled up.
Only when they heard his voice did they dare to believe that the person standing before them was real, not a ghost or a hallucination. It was their son, Marcus Ward, the son they had been mourning day and night.

Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
