The Lockwood Estate
As soon as Natalie arrived, the butler approached her with a grave expression. "Ms. Verdan, the young master asked you to go to the study when you returned."
Natalie sensed from the butler's face that something was wrong.
"What happened?"
The butler leaned in closer to Natalie and whispered, "I don't know what's wrong with Mr. Lockwood, but he returned with a look of pure thunder on his face. It's as if something happened that made him extremely angry."
The way the butler looked at her sent a chill down Natalie's spine.
For some reason, the hickey on her neck began to throb with a dull heat.
"Is Hanley at the estate?"
The butler said, "Yes, young Hanley came back with the young master. Don't worry, he is not injured and is doing fine. He was just a bit hungry, so the young master had the kitchen prepare some food for him. He's in the dining room eating now."
Natalie was relieved to hear that. She had originally planned to see Hanley first, but decided to let him eat in peace.
"Thank you. I'll go see Terence now."
As Natalie walked away, the butler watched her go, a gossipy look on his face.
Natalie pushed open the study door. Terence was sitting at the grand rosewood desk. He merely glanced up, and an overwhelming, suffocating tension filled the room.
The man was clearly not happy.
Natalie walked over. "I heard you were looking for me."
"Come here."
Not knowing what Terence wanted, Natalie approached. He suddenly yanked her into his lap and, without a word, crushed his lips against hers.
Terence kissed her with a bruising, all-consuming intensity, stealing the very breath from her lungs. What was wrong with him?
Sensing Natalie's lack of response, Terence stopped.
His voice was deep and magnetic.
"Do I really do nothing for you?"
"Just leaving a mark isn't enough to stop others from wanting you. Let's get married!"
What? Natalie was stunned. What Terence was saying now was even more shocking than his kiss.
Terence's gaze was so intense that Natalie felt her heart hammer wildly against her ribs.
He wanted to marry her?
"The two of us… we're not a good match."
Natalie struggled to get off Terence's lap.
But he held her down possessively, leaning in to whisper, "If we're not a good match, then who are you a good match for?"
"I've never had much luck with family or love. I guess I'm just meant to be on my own."
"How can you be alone when I'm by your side?"
Terence tilted Natalie's chin up, forcing her to meet his gaze.

Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
