Richard replied, “I did.”

Elaine took Natalie’s hand. “I heard Terence has left the Lockwood family and you’re living with him in a run-down house. Why don’t you and Terence move back home?”

Natalie didn’t answer. Richard said, “They’re used to their freedom and don’t like being constrained. Natalie, you don’t have to move back home, but you can’t refuse the house the family is offering you. Was it the one your brother picked that you didn’t like? You can choose one yourself.”

“Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t feel like I’m suffering where I am. For the first time, I feel like I have a real home. I feel at peace there.”
