Right now, Elaine wished she could give everything she had to Natalie. She just wanted to make it up to her. Whether Natalie acknowledged her or not didn't matter anymore; she just couldn't bear to see her suffer.
Elaine’s loving gaze stirred something in Natalie’s heart.
“I can’t accept your money. Besides, you’ve already sent me so many things recently, and I’ve received them all. But I won’t take the money.”
For a while now, Elaine had been having Marcus Ward secretly send things to her.
There was food, clothes, and even things like herbal wellness teas, supplements, and a shoulder and neck massager.
She sent anything that might be even slightly beneficial.
Elaine felt a deep sense of debt to Natalie. She was always trying to make up for the lost time between mother and daughter, but she didn't dare intrude. So, she channeled her longing into shopping, constantly sending gifts to Natalie.
Elaine had become visibly gaunt, and her appearance alone showed how much she'd been suffering lately.
Just then, Lucas said, “Mrs. Ward, you’ve really lost a lot of weight. You need to eat more to get your strength back.”
Even a child could see how thin Elaine had become. She stroked Lucas's head and said, “You're a good boy, Lucas. I know you've always protected Natalie. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, Mrs. Ward. Protecting Natalie is our responsibility. Don't worry, even though the place isn't some luxury penthouse in the city, we’ll take good care of her. And I believe in my daddy. He won't stay defeated.”
Lucas was trying to ease the Wards’ worries. They were afraid Natalie would suffer, and he was too. But he believed that even if his dad was kicked out of the Lockwood Group, he wouldn't give up. Their lives wouldn't be stuck in a rut.
Elaine and Richard exchanged a look. The boy was young, but he understood their thoughts, recognized their fears, and knew how to comfort them.
She wanted to pull a guilt trip on her, using remorse as a leash.
There was a time when she would have given her life for them, and she was even forced to do… that kind of thing.
But when Elaine found out Marie was her daughter, she didn't hesitate to protect Marie and hurt her.
It made all of Natalie’s sacrifices feel like a joke, and her whole life even more so.
She would never forgive her, so there was no reason to see her.
“I won’t go see her, and I will never forgive her.”

I think Terence must know something isn't right about Angela, that's why he agreed to figure it out....
Marie needs to be gone, she has caused enough trouble for Natalie. This is getting boring!...
This fiasco needs to end. Natalie and Terrance need to be together and in my mind somehow those twins are Natalie’s....
Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
