Lucas nodded enthusiastically.
“Liana’s right. I promise I won’t misbehave. With Natalie as my teacher, I’ll be on my best behavior.”
Liana and Lucas each took one of Natalie’s hands, both of them beaming with happiness.
The old butler watched the young master and young miss, and seeing Natalie so happy, he too broke into a fond smile.
After all, the young master and miss were usually wary of strangers, yet they had taken to her so quickly.
Perhaps she could help fill the void left by their mother’s absence.
For Natalie, the Lockwood family felt like a sanctuary, a place where she could find a moment of peace.
Here, no one would point a finger in her face and curse her for being a monster who would even harm her own child.
“Let’s study together, then.”
“Daddy, Natalie said she’ll teach me!”
Lucas looked excitedly at Terence. Natalie looked at him too, her eyes clear and hopeful.
He knew his son would throw a fit if he refused.
Terence looked at Natalie and said, “If you have any regrets, you can back out at any time. This kid… is not an easy student.”
Lucas’s mischievous nature was more than most people could handle, and he had no interest in studying.
“Daddy, could you say something nice about me in front of Natalie? I’m actually a genius, a natural-born scholar.”
A natural-born scholar? Please. Books probably ran in fear of him.
Terence gave a cold smirk. “A natural at what?”
Lucas was speechless.
Natalie couldn’t help but laugh.
Her smile was radiant, and for a moment, the two children and their father were captivated.
Lucas was a bundle of energy, always jumping and running around. Keeping up with him was physically exhausting and could leave anyone looking like a wreck.
Terence could almost picture it: Natalie with her hair in disarray, looking like she’d been struck by lightning, maybe even with tears in her eyes when she saw him.
But instead, he found a scene of perfect harmony.
Natalie was teaching Liana math, while Lucas sat beside them, his posture impeccable, diligently writing. The sight was enough to startle both Terence and the butler.
Lucas was a child who despised studying. If you gave him a pen, you’d get it back in two pieces.
He had a strange, almost superhuman strength when it came to breaking things, and no matter the material, he could snap any pen in half.
It was as if he held a grudge against pens from a past life.
He would start yawning the moment he had to read or write, leading a doctor to jokingly diagnose him with an “allergy to studying.”
To see a boy like that sitting quietly and writing was an eye-popping, unbelievable sight.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
