“Natalie, how can you just let it go?” Lucas protested.
“It doesn't matter anymore.”
For Natalie, all she wanted was for Hanley not to hate her.
He was too young to understand right and wrong, but his hatred still cut her deeply.
“Mommy, if you promise to stop making trouble, I can ask Daddy and Auntie to let you come home and take care of us. I miss your honey ribs.”
Lucas was so angry he could barely breathe. How could Hanley have the nerve?
Just then, someone shouted.
“A child collapsed! Someone, help!”
The kindergarten’s nurse rushed over, began performing CPR, and yelled for someone to call an ambulance.
Hearing a child had collapsed, Natalie immediately went to see what was happening.
A little girl lay on the ground, her eyes shut. The school nurse was administering chest compressions. Natalie quickly assessed the child's condition.
The other children were terrified by the scene.
“Is Bella going to die? She’s not moving at all.”
“Dr. Hale looks so scared. Bella might be dying.”
The children were in a panic.
After examining the child, Natalie immediately intervened. “Stop CPR. CPR will do more harm than good and could worsen her condition.”
With that, Natalie prepared to treat the girl in her way, but the nurse stopped her.
“Who are you? You are not a doctor at all!”
The children looked at Natalie, who could heal the sick, with pure admiration.
Lucas puffed out his chest proudly. “Natalie is incredible, isn’t she? She saved me before, too. She gave me a new life, which basically makes her… my mommy.”
Lucas looked immensely proud to have Natalie as his mother figure, and the other children gazed at them with reverence.
Hanley’s face soured. She was his mommy, so why was Lucas stealing the spotlight?
Just then, the ambulance arrived.
Natalie comforted the little girl, then told the paramedics, “Her life is no longer in immediate danger, but she will require surgery. Please notify her parents.”
The child was safely loaded into the ambulance.
The principal rushed over. “Hanley’s mom, thank you so, so much.”
Natalie replied calmly, “I’m not his mother anymore.”

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
