Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 900

Serena's smile grew even warmer.

She had previously set her sights on the Whitmore family because, given Isabella's background, Bernard was the highest-tier connection they could possibly hope to secure.

But how could Bernard ever compare to the Everhart heir? That was the Everhart family—the only true elite powerhouse in Stormhollow aside from the Ravenshire family.

Preston was the designated heir to the family empire. Even if Isabella merely ended up as his mistress, it would secure her for the rest of her life.

Isabella saw right through the suffocating greed hiding beneath her mother's gentle facade. She suddenly understood why her mother hadn't punished her for her disobedience. It wasn't because her mother cared that she was nearly forced to strip and dance; it was entirely because she thought Isabella had hooked Preston.

She forced a smile, her expression deadening as she lied. "I crossed paths with him a few times back at the academy. He looked out for me back then, but I never thought much of it since I was so young. But when I came back this time, he treated me differently. Last time at the garden hotel, he was the one who saved me from those awful people."

"You silly girl, why didn't you tell me something this important sooner?!"

Overjoyed, Serena pulled Isabella to her feet. "We have to seize this golden opportunity. Leave everything to me."

Isabella nodded, acting timid. "Mom, could we wait until I graduate before..."

Serena crossed her arms, immediately losing her patience. "Wait for what? Do you think you're some heavenly goddess? Do you really think the Everhart heir is going to wait around for you?"

"But... some people in my class already know about the dates, and I..."

Everyone at the elite academy was from powerful, prominent families. Bernard had been toying with Isabella publicly, and many of her classmates knew the inside story. Almost every day, she found insulting notes stuffed into her desk. If this continued, she was going to have a breakdown.

Serena understood perfectly, but she brushed it off completely. "Why are you so dense? Why do you think I paid such a massive price to get you into that academy? Who cares if they laugh at you? It doesn't hurt. Once you truly experience the absolute bliss of holding power, you'll understand why your mother is doing all this for you."

With that, she tossed the phone back to Isabella. "I already accepted his friend request for you. Make sure you chat with him properly, and show me your itinerary every day."

Isabella's expression was numb. "Okay."

"Alright, go back to your room and rest." Serena rubbed her temples, then suddenly added, "And you can't completely let go of Bernard just yet. If he asks you out, keep stringing him along."

Isabella closed her eyes. "Understood."

Back in her room, Isabella instinctively reached to lock her bedroom door but caught herself just in time. Instead, she practically ran to the bathroom.

She locked the door and turned on the shower, completing the routine effortlessly.

Ding.

A notification popped up on her screen: a friend request had been accepted.

Isabella held the phone, staring at her chat log with Preston for a solid three minutes.

Finally, she closed the window, switched accounts, and found the contact saved as "Idiot."

This time, her silence lasted much longer.

By the time she snapped out of it, tears were streaming down her cheeks and landing on the warm screen, blurring the word "Idiot."

A moment later, she sniffled, her trembling fingers typing out three words.
