Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 101

101

Bella

She’d never had a reason to come down into the pack’s archives before, while being the Luna here. She’d had her own Luna’s Library down a set of stairs in the Luna’s office. She could see it was laid out pretty much like the Luna’s Library, only it was twice the size but had smaller bookcases with little plaques on them to denote what type of books were on the shelves.

She took the book Parker held out to her as she asked “Who’s allowed in here?”

“Everyone, they just need to fill out the form with the pack librarian, and then they can come and read what they need,” he pointed to a few tables with chairs and lamps, “or they are allocated a time and date for them to bring it back to the librarian, only human translations are allowed out of this room. We’ll have to scan this one out before leaving the room, so it gets logged as leaving the archives. I’ll attach it to my fingerprint, seeing as you’re no longer a pack member.” he answered her.

“Mm, mine will not register, Kane and I came to the library and had my print removed from the system the day I left.”

“I know.” He nodded. “On that note, about you doing all of that with Kane. It wasn’t done with me because I just couldn’t do it…” he sighed, “I’d likely have reclaimed you, marked and mated you whether you wanted that or not. It was a hard day for me. I left the pack in the end, so I could let you go… I really didn’t want to, but you needed your freedom.”

She stared at him as they left the archives. “Oh, I thought you left the pack to go and Mark and Mate Carina.”

“No.” Parker shook his head. “It was so I didn’t know the exact moment you left pack territory. I’d likely have stopped you, gone after you and…” he ran a hand through his hair. “Made things a lot worse.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t think that…” she trailed off. How did one state she’d still have said no to him, she’d craved her freedom and even if he’d told her back then that he’d loved her and wanted her to stay, she’d not have wanted that herself. She’d not felt anything for him. She never had, and she didn’t think it was at all his fault either. It was likely to do with Freya, she now realised.

“I know and at least I understand that now… How are you feeling? I got the feeling that you were a bit overwhelmed today, I think.”

Bella nodded “Upset.” She stated “I couldn’t even understand my own tears.”

“I saw that. There’s probably going to be more of that, you being overwhelmed if, as we suspect, there is a wolf underneath Freya trying to get out of you. If Freya has cut off your connection to everything and everyone… when she’s gone,” He sighed a little on the heavy side. “I think you’ll feel overwhelmed by everything, and Belladonna, you might not cope with that. A sudden onset of emotions you’ve never had to deal with before.”

“Yay” She muttered, that was probably not going to be fun for her. “Do you think Freya did it on purpose?” she asked curiously.

He seemed to think about it for a long moment and then stated, “It is likely, though, in her eyes, she may have a very good reason, if she was your mother’s wolf. Though I don’t think she was that either, she could well have taken your mother over to stop her from feeling all the pain and hurt a Citron Wolf suffers through.”

She’d thought that herself just today. “I guess not feeling any emotions about anything at all, that would disconnect one from trauma and harm done to them. Maybe she thought she was saving me.” Bella mused.

“From your own father at that. If he made use of your mother in that very manner, your life would have been just like hers, if your own wolf emerged at you turning 16, and he saw her,” Parker nodded slowly.

“He was evil.” She muttered.

“Mm.” Parker nodded. “You’re nothing like him, Belladonna.”

“I know, neither is Whit, thank goodness.” She nodded.

Parker smiled at her. “He takes after you.”

“Hmm, I’d say after both of us.” She did see a lot of Parker in Whit, though it had never bothered her, just amused her a little when she’d seen it or made her blink in surprise at times.

“He won’t be a Citron Wolf either. From my knowledge, all Wolves of Destiny are female,” Parker stated.

She frowned at that thought “Better have all boys then.” She murmured to herself and found Parker looking

right at her.

“You want more children?” he asked.

“Oh, um… just well, a random thought there.” She stated and turned her eyes to the book in her hand, as

she felt her cheeks heat with embarrassment. Only to hear Parker chuckle softly but say nothing. She’d

never felt embarrassed about anything before.
