It took him all of about 10 seconds of looking at that woman walking towards them, to know who she was going to be, something he himself had pondered over this past week, but had not actually said anything. This was the one woman that could call Freya out, and now he understood why he nor Vex had been able to. Why no one could.
The past three days inside his own pack, he’d felt a presence here, and he’d hunted it himself just last night. He’d gone out to try and track it as it moved about inside his pack. He’d never been able to lay eyes on what it was. Now he understood that was because she’d simply not allowed him to. Didn’t want him to, and the moment he’d gotten close to that presence he could feel, it had just blipped itself to the other side
of the pack.
It was a she, there Moon Goddess in fact, and she radiated beauty and calm as she walked towards them, and her dark blue eyes sparkled like the night sky ‘Selena, Vex told him, and his own wolf bowed his head
inside his mind.
“Tis time, Freya. To come home to me,” she stated simply, calmly for he and Shannon to hear as well as
Freya.
“Home to you?” Parker asked, and though it was what he suspected, he couldn’t help but to ask the question, because he wanted an actual answer to it.
Her eyes moved right towards him and then, as she waved a hand, and he watched Shannon just crumple to the ground unconscious next to him and understood in that moment, that was what had happened to his entire pack. They weren’t sleeping but unconscious at Selena’s will.
“Mm, she is my wolf,” Selena stated. “And it’s time I retrieved her and take her back to the temple.”
His eyes moved to Belladonna. The wolf that inhabited her body actually belonged to Selena, their Moon Goddess. No wonder no one could call her out, and she didn’t want to be seen. “Your actual wolf is inside Belladonna…” he couldn’t help but stated as he looked at her, how could they be two separate entities.
“Yes, my wolfen counterpart.” She nodded. “Ripped herself from me a millennia ago. Don’t concern yourself with it,” she told him almost dismissively.
“Belladonna?” he asked, if Selena was here to reclaim her wolf. That meant she was going to pull her out of Belladonna’s mind and body, something that on a new moon could kill her.
“Hmm, you know what she truly is?” she countered.
“Yes, a Citron Wolf I believe.” He nodded.
“Did you learn your lesson, Alpha Parker?” She asked, stepping over to Belladonna’s body.
“What?” he frowned.

“Mm, I believe Freya saw fit to punish you, nine years of it now.”
He was still frowning at her as he tried to understand what she was talking about, and then it dawned on
him “Carina.”
“Mm.” Selena nodded. “Sometimes, Freya is unruly and…” she kind of shrugged. “Gives back to others what she thinks they deserve… I believe you call it Karma… Freya calls it equal punishment. You should have followed your heart long before you met Carina. That is what mean to say…
“Freya understood you, waited patiently for you to realise your Chosen Mate meant the world to you, and for you to tell her how you felt… but you opted not to.” She shook her head as she looked up at him. “So she paid you back in kind. She’s a bit on the vengeful side.” She shrugged and looked back to Belladonna or Freya. “You wouldn’t be if you rejoined yourself with me.” she told her own wolf.
He heard Freya snort as she sat there on the ground. There was nothing he could say or do. He’d suspected as much that he’d chosen wrong and could only agree with her. “I chose wrong.”
“Most do. Only a few can be judged by Freya as a True Alpha. You’re on your way to that I see, but my beast, she is so very stubborn in getting what she wants. She has her own destiny, separate from mine now, which…” she rested a hand on Belladonna’s head. “Is now complete, for the time being.” Her other hand touched Belladonna’s chest. “It is time Freya, to let her go. The new moon sets now,” and Selena’s attention was gone from him, along with her desire to explain anything further. “Release to me now.” He heard Freya snarl and saw Belladonna’s entire body stiffen, then she was pushed down to lay on the ground before both of them.
“You can not interfere, Wolf.” Her eyes moved to him for a brief moment only. “Don’t even try, I can command you as easily as all those in this pack,” Selena told him.
