Bella
She didn’t know how to behave around Parker, all of a sudden, she was uncertain, due to what she had felt when he’d picked her up off the floor. She’d been uncertain about his behaviour since their conversation that morning. He’d still acted like nothing was wrong. That she hadn’t told him she didn’t think it was a good idea for them to go down that road again
Now she was uncomfortable because she’d just felt the sparks of a mate bond, and did not know what to say to him or how to feel about that. Though as he left the room, she’d known he wanted out of this room and away from her, he’d picked up on her sudden uncomfortableness. Though it likely wasn’t the reason he thought.
Even Whit had picked up how she’d suddenly become uncomfortable with Parker in the room. But it was more guilt than anything, and she knew it. She’d just told him they wouldn’t be together, and now he was going to be her Goddess–Gifted Mate. She had no idea if he knew like she did.
It didn’t seem like it to her. He’d not said anything or verbalised that he’d felt anything different. Was it just her that knew and what if, before the full moon came, he moved on because she’d just told him that was what she wanted.
Whit was looking at her with a frown. “Mum?” he asked after watching his father leave the room. “What’s going on?” he asked. “You and dad, is there something wrong? Why’d he leave?”
She looked at Whit, what was she supposed to tell him? It was clear to her that Parker had not relayed this morning’s conversation to him. “It’s a bit difficult at the moment.” She told him because it was. She was very confused about how she felt, what she’d said and the knowledge she’d just gotten.
Whit stared at her for a long moment. “Did you tell dad we were going back to Hollowed Moon?” he asked.
“He said I had a room in the Alpha Suite for when I come to visit?”
Bella looked at Whit now. She’d not said that, but she supposed what she’d said could have been taken
that way. “I didn’t say that, Whit.” She shook her head. “I’m just very confused right now. To be honest with you, I don’t really know… understand what I’m supposed to feel.” She sighed “I know you want to stay here,
I’m not blind Whit, and I also know Parker wants that as well. He’s…” she bit her lip and wondered just how
much her words had hurt him. She’d just tried to be honest with him, now it was all screwed up. “He’s
made it very clear what he wants, but now…” she murmured, thinking about those words she’d said and
now the sparks on her own skin.
“Why don’t you just try it?” Whit muttered. “It might work this time.”
She knew that he must want it deep down, for his parents to be together, what child didn’t want their mum and dad under the same roof; to be a family. Hell, even a part of her had wanted that growing up, even knowing she wasn’t welcome in her father’s home.
But still there was that part of her that longed to belong, to be a part of his family and be treated like he

wanted her as his child, loved her like he should. It was hard to be on the outside, and watch it all, knowing you couldn’t have what you wanted.
It was what Whit wanted for them to be a family. Even if he hadn’t voiced it out loud until just now, she’d known it was what he wanted for them to all be a family. Though she’d thought he’d not voice it to her because that would mean she would give him what he wanted, and stay here because Whit wanted it, not because she wanted too.
“It’s complicated Whit, that is all.” she sighed, and it was right this minute. If Parker didn’t feel what she felt the sparks of the mate bond, she couldn’t just go and tell him she felt it, that would be considered coercion.
But on the other hand, he’d told her he loved her even without the mate bond and wanted them to come back together, so would it really matter? She didn’t exactly know what to do right this minute. Venus hadn’t even so much as looked at him when she’d surfaced. But then her words had confused her as well.
She was, however, certain by those words Freya had stated, that Venus had felt the rejection, and now knowing that he was their Goddess–Gifted and had always been from what Venus said! She’d ruined their
mate bond for nothing by rejecting him or had it been Freya that had ruined everything? Had Venus known that Parker and Vex were their Goddess–Gifted all that time? And was that why she had been so very
violent with Freya inside her mind.
She’d said Vex felt the bond even now. Their bond wasn’t realised, but they couldn’t let them go. Was that
why he was so quick to want to talk to her inside the Hollowed Moon? And stood up when she walked into
the same space as him. Even still mated to Carina, he’d stood up when she walked into a room, just like he
had when they’d been mated to each other.
It was a mark of respect, and that hadn’t even stopped when he was mated to Carina. He’d wanted to talk
to her, have dinner with her. Mala and Aston had told her he wanted to know how she was doing, and
“Odd.” Annette agreed, “but that is also good, you’ll be able to move about as normal likely by tomorrow.”

“He stated he had work to do and left.” Annette told her, and raised an eyebrow at her “Did you two fight or have words?” She asked directly. “He’s been living in this room until now, and…” she trailed off, her eyes moving to Whit and Milly.
