Parker

Shannon had calmed him down completely, telling him that it was just likely that Belladonna herself didn’t know about them being Goddess Gifted to each other, because she had no wolfen senses available to her, due to her wolf not having a fully emerged wolf yet.

That it was completely possible that he, as an Alpha Wolf, could pick it up because he was in love with her, had always been attached to her, and wanted her back. She’d always been on his mind. Deep down inside of him he’d never wanted to let her go and often thought about her.

That, in all likelihood, he had never truly accepted it either, that maybe a part of him or perhaps Vex, knew what she was to them but couldn’t actually realise it because of Freya. That because Freya was now gone and Venus was right there, he was now able to understand and scent out who she truly was to him.

A

That perhaps Selena wanted him to know after all he’d gone through, Freya having punished him with Carina, that she thought it was a nice thing for him to know that what he wanted and truly loved was going to be his. Because he’d showed with his patience and willingness to let Bella do everything on her terms, giving her choices showed he was going to be the right mate for her and her wolf. That he really did love her, was a good, kind, caring mate that was never going to allow harm to come to her.

That he and Belladonna, as Goddess-Gifted Mates, and unable to scent each other out all those years because of Selena’s wolf Freya, that this was Selena’s way of apologising for her own wolf’s actions.

He’d sat there in his office and thought about that. He’d never once stopped thinking about Belladonna during their separation. He’d tried to push her aside, but there in the back of his mind, he thought about her more often than not. Missed her and the person she had been all the time.

The moment he’d laid eyes on her for that very first time, he’d smiled and called out to her on pure instinct,

because he’d wanted to know everything about her life. He had slept well that night, even, just knowing she was there and looked healthy to him. He’d never liked not knowing where she went or if she was okay.

He’d kind of felt peaceful after seeing her and knowing she was doing well.

But then he’d also been disappointed that she didn’t want to talk to him, when that was something he’d wanted. Vex had stood him up every time she’d walked into the room where they were, a mark of respect at seeing her, because even Vex wanted to spend time with her. Even though they’d been mated to

someone else at the time.

His thoughts and reactions to her were always mate-like, because he’d never wanted to let her go, always wanted her to be by his side. Even while mated to his now ex, he’d still be drawn to Belladonna, as had Vex. If they were Goddess-Gifted even back then, that would explain a lot.

It also likely explained just why it had been so bloody painful for her to reject him, why the pain and suffering had lingered, and then been compounded upon by her rejecting him as her Alpha, and the pack on top of all of that.

A pack that he now knew was actually hers to begin with.

All of his unit had told him to just relax, and calm down. They’d sat with him and reassured him it wasn’t actually a proper rejection on her part, that he was the one trying to let her go, and if he stopped trying to do that, the pain would in all likelihood go away.

He’d thought about it and taken a moment to clear his mind, and let himself accept that she wasn’t going to leave him. That everything was going to be alright because they technically weren’t actual Mates at this point, and no rejection could be issued until she understood what he was to her.

“Take a breath Parker, she stated she wanted her wolf to find their Goddess-Gifted Mate, right?” Kane had

asked him.

“Yes” He’d nodded.

“Then she’s not going to reject you, she’s just confused because she’s never had to deal with any emotions before. Just blindly went along with everything because Freya allowed her to be uncaring and not feel anything at all, and now she does; feel everything,” Shannon had stated with a nod, agreeing with Kane.

“So come the full moon, she’ll not only shift for the first time, but she’ll also scent you out as her Goddess-Gifted as well.” Axel stated, “A win-win for both of you, because she wants a Goddess-Gifted, and that is you. So you’ll get what you want as well.”

“You just need to wait a week is all,” Kane stated. “Patience is the key, and you already have that.”

“No, not patience.” Shannon murmured thoughtfully “persistence and perseverance. Don’t retreat from her like you did today, just stay by her side regardless of what she says to you.”

“She might not want that.” He sighed a little as he looked at his Gamma.

“Maybe so, but you don’t have to make a move on her, still just be how you’ve been this past week. Attentive, show her you won’t be deterred,” Shannon stated.

“She was uncomfortable with me being in the room this afternoon.” Parked sighed.

“Okay… But why all of a sudden?” Kane asked thoughtfully. “You need to ask her why? You’re getting along and have been looking after both Milly and Whitney. They even came and had dinner with you, so maybe

there is another reason…” he trailed off in thought.

“Or maybe she just doesn’t want to be around me, now she’s made her choice.” Parker huffed. That was
