Belladonna
She stepped into her suite and put that call into Alpha Aston. It was early, but also Saturday morning, and though she knew he wouldn’t be training at this hour, she also knew that he wouldn’t be in his office either. He would still be in his family suite with Mala and the children. So she had to call his mobile number, not something that a pack member would do.
But her calling him from outside the pack, it was completely acceptable that she would call him on his mobile at any time of the day. They were also likely expecting her to call at some point. She’d already spoken with him once this week about not having a wolf, that, from her understanding of what Parker had seen, Selena had ripped Freya from her.
He’d not really said much on that front, just sighed a little and murmured “To be expected.” And that had
beem it.
He picked up the call on the fifth ring, “Bell, is everything alright?”
“Yes, Aston. Sorry to call so early on a Saturday, I know it’s family time but…” she sighed.
“It’s fine Bell, we’re just sitting having breakfast, you’re not interrupting anything. If you were, I wouldn’t answer the phone.” She could hear the smile in his voice. “I’m guessing you’re going to stay there, and wanted to give me as much notice as possible.” He stated simply, “Mala and I were expecting it, Bell.”
“It’s a bit complicated,” she’d sighed to herself.
“What is so complicated?” he asked, sounding a little curious to her.
“I got my wolf, or well, half of her I guess. She can push forward and speak and heal me, but can’t be out of me until the full moon.”
“Oh… well, that is good news, she’s healed you, so I can take it that you’re out of the hospital? Has she got a name?” he asked now.
“Yes, and her name is Venus.” She sank down on the couch in her suite, “There is more! I’m a bit confused.” “Hmm, I dare say, with all those emotions Freya suppressed for a lifetime, you are very confused. How is that going? Are you still being overwhelmed by everything?”
“No… I just… I don’t even know how to explain it.” she murmured softly.
“State it simply and plainly; Don’t concern yourself with the words. That is the best way. What is wrong?”
Aston asked.
“Venus, after she came forth, and it was only yesterday after lunch, well,” she sighed. “Though I could not scent a mate out, I can feel the sparks of a Mate Bond when touched.”
“Ah, and who pray tell is the wolf you’re talking about?” he sounded a little happy or amused, she thought.

“It’s Parker.” She sighed.
“And you’re now confused about that?”
“Yes, to be honest think. Venus was always his Mate. She knew the whole time, Freya denied it and, well, it’s just weird now.”
“Hmm.” He was quiet for a long moment “Why is it weird? A Mate is a Mate, and you didn’t hate him, liked his pack, stated he was respectful. So, you’re thinking what? Do you not want to go there again, even though he’s your Goddess-Gifted? Never harmed you, and is the father of your child.”
“I don’t know how to handle him…” she muttered.
Aston chuckled now, “Oh, so he knows as well and is playing with you, in a way you’ve never had to deal with before. He didn’t just claim you?”
“I didn’t know he knew, not really until late last night and then his actions this morning. The things he said confirmed it for me. Though he’s still not told me he knows, but he definitely knows that I feel the Mate Bond. He picked that up very quickly. Embarrassed me with it as well,”

“How so?” Aston murmured, though still sounded amused to her ear.
“It’s I don’t know how to explain it… I’ve never felt anything like it before. My heart raced and I kind of ran away from him,” she muttered. It was more than embarrassing to react like that. She was a fully-grown adult with children, knew what sex was, actually enjoyed it even.
She heard Aston burst out laughing.
“It’s not funny.” She muttered.
“Oh, I bet Parker thought it was, and likely if he’s got the Mate Bond on his end, he thinks it’s adorable. Get all excited about it as well and want to tease you with it to elicit that reaction from you.”
