Parker

He understood Belladonna’s look from him to Bridgit and back. She didn’t want to leave the pack just in case something happened to Bridgit. She had been told by Freya not to leave. Something she was taking literally, not leaving the borders.

Parker thought about that as he walked from the dining hall. She was going off to call Aston and Mala, and had headed up to her suite with Milly, and he’d waved Whit off to go play with his friends, that he could go and play for a few hours first before shopping. To come back at 9am so they could leave for their day of shopping.

He sat behind his desk and really thought about it. Was it completely necessary for Belladonna to never leave the pack at all? In order for that ability of hers to work? He didn’t really like the idea of her being stuck inside the pack all the time. He did want her to be here, but also wanted her to know she had the freedom to come and go as she pleased, head out of the pack anytime she liked to go shopping or have

lunch in the city.

He knew she’d never left the pack at all while they’d been mated to each other, and he now wondered if it was Freya just keeping her there inside the pack, so nothing would happen to the she-wolves; so there wouldn’t be any miscarriages… Surely, he could take her to the city for dinner, or to the ballet or theater, an art gallery or one of the state’s festivals.

It was itching his brain now. He didn’t think it should be taken literally, that she had to be inside the pack 100% of the time, surely once they were mated to each other again, and she was initiated into the pack once more. Became the Luna, it would be considered that she was here, a solid part of the pack, even if she was outside the pack for one reason or another, right?

His brain was ticking. There had to be a way to find out without risking Bridgit and her pups. He was staring at nothing in particular, trying to figure it out when Annette connected herself to him about the birth of a pup that had been born, and she’d sent the paperwork to him. That he could come and attend the Alpha’s blessing anytime he liked.

J

He smiled down at the little boy in his mother’s arms as he ran his hand over the little one’s tiny head and gave his Alpha’s blessing to the newborn, smiled at all her other children in the room. There were five of them ranging from 13 to 2, a whole litter. Parker could actually recall giving his Alpha’s blessing to the

oldest one..

They were from a subsidiary pack, and that made him think of what he’d been trying to find out earlier. He excused himself and returned to his office. That oldest child was born when Belladonna was the Luna to this pack, born safe and sound as had the next child down at the age of 10. He pulled up the deaths and births records of his subsidiary packs for the entire time that Belladonna had been his Luna.

Everything was documented, from all subsidiary packs; miscarriages, still-born pups, she-wolves that died in childbirth. As he scrolled through the lists, there were none at all in any of his subsidiary packs either.

He leaned back in his chair and stared at the numbers. Numbers didn’t lie, she didn’t actually need to be there Inside those parts of the pack, just being the Luna to them had seen the flow on effects of her ability spread to all the subsidiary packs.

In fact, he’d not lost a single pup or she-wolf until the day after she’d severed from the pack itself. He could see the numbers and the near-instant loss of life starting across the subsidiary packs. They all started within a week of her leaving him.

He thought about that. Maybe she didn’t even need to be his mate. Just initiated into the pack was all. She’d not been his mate for well over 12 hours the day she’d rejected him, but still been a pack member until she’d found a place to stay in the city. She had still delivered a baby safely before she even left.

There were even three other births that night in other packs and nothing bad had happened to any of the she-wolves, or their pups, while she’d not been his mate, but still been a pack member. She’d even been off pack territory when one of those pups was born. It was about the pack she was connected to.

So, by that logic, if Belladonna would allow herself to be initiated into the pack before the full moon, Bridgit would be alright and so would her pups. Belladonna could move about freely within the human world as well, not be forced to stay inside the pack. Which he thought she believed she needed to be.

Not something he wanted her to think. He printed out what he was looking at so that he could show her, so she could understand it for herself. Know she would be free to move about at will, and he wanted to ask her some questions about her time in the Hollowed Moon now as well, just to confirm things.

Her gift of fertility should have been activated the moment she was initiated by Aston. Parker headed upstairs and pressed her doorbell. “Can I ask you a question about something?” he asked the moment the door was open, “My curiosity needs settling on something, and I wanted to talk to you about it.” He put aside his flirting with her for the moment, because he thought this was more important, and needed it to be a serious conversation.

“Alright.” She nodded and stepped aside to let him into the suite, only to find she wasn’t alone in there. Milly was playing with Shannon and Nicky’s son, and Kristy, Nicky and Bridgit were all sitting on the couch. That surprised him quite a bit.

“Oh.” He murmured as he stopped and looked at them. They did not know what Belladonna’s wolf type was. That was just for him and her, his unit. Something he wanted to stay that way to protect her. The less that knew, the better. Though he was certain, they all believed she had some sort of Goddess-given ability around babies. But that Citron Wolf thing was not to be talked about.

“I didn’t realise you had company,” he commented as he looked at Belladonna.

She nodded. “The little ones all wanted to play together.”

Parker looked at her and then Kristy, Nicky and Bridgit, thought about it for only a moment and took hold of Belladonna’s hand. “I need Belladonna for like five minutes,” he told them, and excused himself as he tugged her out of her suite and down the hall to his suite, pushed the door open and walked them inside it.

“Parker?” she frowned at him.

“Sorry it just needs to be in private,” he told her, realizing she looked a bit nervous to be in his suite. “I’m not going to try and seduce you,” he smiled at her. “I do actually have a few questions I need to ask you, that are not for others ears.”

“Alright.” She nodded, and he let go of her hand, realising he still had hold of it.
