That meeting with Alpha Gretta and Alpha Hailey, about her mating alliance, didn’t go too badly. That clause did clearly define born into a mate bond, not conceived into one. So that would go in her favour.

Gretta read through the whole thing and shook her head more than once. Then looked at her and stated, ” You were chosen, just to be rejected?”

“Correct.” Bella had nodded, she already knew that.

“This clause; about you getting to keep anything given to you, after a rejection has been issued and accepted.” Gretta stated, “On a technicality, that could be seen by you, by us here at the Alpha Council, as that pup is a gift of life. So, it is yours to keep, seeing as you were rejected and had also left that pack before you knew you were pregnant.”

She heard Hailey chuckle, “Now, now Gretta, calm down a little. I know you like to pull these contracts apart to be in favour of the one you’re trying to help, but it’s already null and voided. So there is no need for you to do that, pull it to pieces. All we have to do legally, is to stay true to our own rules and laws as Council members, which is to contact the father and inform him of his pup. From what I read, everything right at this minute is in Bella’s favour already. The rules are clearly written, born within a mate bond, this pup will not be that.”

“Hmm but he’s going to fight tooth and nail, I dare say, Bella did state he wanted a pup with her.” Gretta turned and looked at her “He did?” and Bella nodded in answer to the question.

“Then he will want to know about the pup, regardless of them being rejected and that mating alliance

voided. It will be pure–blooded, so I can only imagine that he is going to come in here, all claws out to

retrieve what he will believe is his, when he finds out.” Gretta stated.

“Hmm, he will come. I agree with that, but Bella also stated that he wasn’t a brute, not mean and cruel, so I

think it’s best if we just sss him, and inform him of the situation, a simple letter should do it. Go from

there.” Hailey commented.

They stared at each other for a long minute before they both, Gretta and Hailey were looking at her. “Bella,

what do you think?” Gretta asked.

“I don’t know to be honest with you, I’m not willing to give up my child to him, and relinquish my kin bond just so that he can raise my child, and it will never know who I am.” Bella sighed and looked from one to the other “He’d likely make for a good dad…but I don’t think his new Mate would be happy about it or treat

the pup well.” she shook her head no.

“He can’t claim your pup as his Heir and demand you give it up, as the mating alliance states, its clause is clear and that alliance is now voided. You also belong to me now, Bella.” Gretta smiled right at her. “So you have my protection as well as the Council’s protection in this matter.”

She thought about it for several minutes and both Gretta and Hailey gave her the time to think it through.” Then I guess you can sss him and tell him, see what he does about it.” she’d argued with herself about what to do, not knowing what he would actually do because he had a new Mate and Luna.

“Alright, you stated he’s got a Goddess Gifted now, and it has been what? Five days today? She’ll go into heat tomorrow or could well be now, so we’ll leave it to next week. That way he can get back to us right away and not have to concern himself with leaving his Goddess–Gifted in pain and agony, if it happens after he’s contacted; to come here, which I suspect that he will.”

“That is a given, Gretta.” Hailey nodded “He’ll want to not only lay eyes on Bella here, but scent out his pup and then probably try and convince her in person that she should go back to his pack, to have that pup and raise it inside his pack too… We’ll have to set up full meeting about it, all four of us on the council here and Belladonna, he and likely his unit, maybe his new Luna even.”

“It’s got nothing to do with her. Why does she get to be there?” Bella frowned at them.

“Because it will affect her life as well, sorry Bella. She may not even want to be a part of the conversation, but we will plan for her to be there.”
