Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 53

53

Parker

He found Alpha Aston sitting in the foyer with his unit and two of the other Alphas just chatting casually, cleared his throat and interrupted them “Sorry to interrupt Alpha Aston, but may I have a word with you please, in private?”

“About?” Aston asked right back.

“Belladonna,” he stated simply.

“My pack doctor. Why?” Aston queried. “Is one of your wolves in need of medical attention?

“No, but I would like it to be in private, please.” Parker muttered, allowing Aston to hear his unhappiness, and some of his annoyance at what was going on out there inside this pack, unbeknownst to him.

Aston excused himself from the group and stood up. He indicated for Parker to follow him to his office. Parker stepped into the man’s office and found Simon the pack Beta also in there, closed the door behind the three of them. Frowned right at him.

“I keep no secrets from my Beta, not ever. So, Simon will be staying in this office, Alpha Parker, whether you like it or not,” Aston told him.

He just nodded it was actually the norm, he’d have Kane in his office with him if it was his pack, likely have the entire unit in here. “I have scented out my own kin, inside your pack today. My Heir to be precise, though I have yet to lay eyes directly on the child. Boy or girl I don’t know at this point.” He stated, getting right to the point.

There was no point in delaying it, he needed to get it sorted out and meet his child. Get an explanation from Belladonna, and this was going to be the safest and likely the quickest way.

Aston raised an eyebrow at him and leaned back on the edge of his desk. Aston seemed un–phased by this news, and he wondered if the man already knew, like his unit suspected he would. Any Alpha pups coming into a pack with a she–wolf, regardless of her rank, should have to state who the father was. To see if it was going to cause trouble for them; bring war to the pack if that child’s father came to claim what was his.

“And you want me to do what exactly about that?” Aston asked as he looked at his watch, “It’s quite late, do you expect me to wake all the children in the pack and have them presented to you?” he asked, looking back at Parker with a raised eyebrow as if to say I’m not going to do that.

“No,” Parker shook his head, and he did not want that, wouldn’t even do that himself, if this situation arose inside his pack. “There will be no need of that, as I believe I know who the mother is, well actually, there can only be one person, Belladonna, my ex–mate.” He informed Aston.

Aston stared at him for a long quiet minute before saying anything, “Bell’s been here for five years now, and you’ve also seen her here before, on your last visit, what, a year ago now? You didn’t pick up that kin

bond the first time you were in the pack? and that little girl of hers I can guarantee is not yours.”

“No,” he nodded, “she is not mine. Though I hear she has two children, from a previous pack member of mine. I am as confused as you are about this, I assure you.” Parker sighed.

He watched Aston and his Beta look at each other, and frown a little, his Beta, Simon shrugged at his Alpha, and Aston turned back to him. He was certain they knew about the child and neither of them were going to do anything about it. “Again, Parker, What do you want me to do for you?” Aston asked him.

“I’d like you to bring Belladonna in here for a meeting with me, to discuss what is going on.” he stated simply “She has some explaining to do, she obviously was pregnant when she left and didn’t tell me.”

Aston snorted and shook his head, was unconcerned about this as much as Belladonna was, it seemed. Maybe this was why she didn’t care she had the Alpha and Luna’s backing. “I can’t actually do that,” Aston stated with a half–smile; he seemed amused to Parker. He thought there was something funny about this situation.

“Why not?” he asked, his annoyance showing. There was nothing funny at all about this.

“She runs the pack orphanage, and is in–charge of a dozen pups right this minute. I believe they’ve all turned in for the night. She is very responsible, likely something you know about her yourself.

“Being that you were her mate for a time. She will not leave them in the middle of the night for a meeting.” Aston shook his head. “I also wouldn’t ask her to either. Those children range from 12 to four, and need an adult in the house at night.”

“She runs an orphanage?” Parker’s frown deepened in thought. Maybe it wasn’t hers. Vex snarled at him ‘Is her, no other.‘ He shook it off. There was no other both he and Vex did know that.

“Yes, are you certain she is the mother? And you don’t have some illegitimate child out there running around without a parent at all. Perhaps went and sewed your wild oats in a few and one got pregnant. Who abandoned the pup or died in childbirth maybe? Several of those children are Alpha–blooded.”

“I’m 100% certain,” he stated angrily and then took a breath in and calmed himself down, this alpha didn’t know him. “I was mated to Belladonna for eight years and I mated my Goddess–Gifted the day after Belladonna and I rejected each other.” He explained to Aston “I’m still mated to my Goddess–Gifted.

I’ll call it,” Aston finally nodded. “But I wouldn’t go getting your hopes up, even if you do have a child with her, claim it as your heir. She’s also Alpha–blooded and will likely claim it’s her heir. Your word against hers, so to speak.”
