Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 54

She looked at Aston with a frown marring her face as she walked down the hospital corridor, as he told her that Parker wanted to have a formal meeting with her. “Why?” she asked in return.

Though he did get up and greet her nearly every time he saw her, that too she thought was odd behaviour, from the man that was her ex–mate.

“He’s of the opinion, I believe, that you kept him from his heir.” Aston stated casually.

Bella stopped walking and looked right at him now, raised an eyebrow right at him disbelievingly, only to have Aston actually snort with full amusement, “That is the very look Parker got from me.” he chuckled softly “In fact, it’s the one that Mala also gave me last night when I told her.”

She shook her head and continued on to her office. Aston followed and closed the door. They both sat down, “Aston, you know as well as I do, he gave up all his rights to my son, before he was even born.” Bella stated simply.

“I know, I’ve seen the paperwork.” Aston nodded, hence why I’m here to have a chat, and delayed that meeting from last night to this morning, even.”

“I don’t understand him. Why now? And not the last time he was here.” she shook her head, it didn’t make

sense.

“Well now, that is the curious part, curious enough for me to actually hold this meeting. But he told myself and Simon that he felt a kin bond and scented out his own kin. He was very confused about it. That it could only be you as the mother to his child, there was no one else. He was faithful to you…was he?”

“Yes.” She nodded. “Didn’t so much as brush a hand on another not that I felt.”

“So, you believe he’d be faithful to his new Mate?” Aston asked her now.

“Yes, he is a man of his word.”

“Alright, the day I feel will be interesting for you and I then, not so much him.” He smiled. “Mala will be in the office. Though we have our own theory after a very long discussion.” He waved off her look of curiosity “I’ll not get into it with you, let’s just wait and see what he actually has to say for himself. Mala promised to behave unless otherwise needs to be.” he snorted once more “Itching for a good fight, I think she is.” he shook his head. “I might just have to send her and Ben off to the area this year to sort that out.”

“What does that mean?” she frowned at him.

“That she and Suki won’t duel him over it and kick him from the pack until the facts are laid out in full for him, from him. You also have, I believe, one Wolfen Council member that will come to your aid in this

matter.

“Mm, Alpha Gretta did say that if any issues arose, she would come and deal with them.” Bella nodded “I

Claim

never thought there would be an issue, to be honest. Though she was of the opinion that Alphas change their minds at times, in my case he was having an heir with his Luna, so he relinquished the claim because of that. But then when I left, she’d checked on him and there was no heir.”

“Ah, so her concern is that he knows out there somewhere there is an heir, and he lost the one he had with his Luna. So now, he wants to come along and claim your boy as his heir.” Asten nodded. “I see why Gretta stated she would come if need be.”

“It’s just odd.” She was still frowning, him having an heir or not, that man followed all his contracts to the letter. She knew that.

“So, Bell, does 9am suit you?” Aston asked her.

She turned to her computer and checked her schedule, then nodded “Yes, what are you expecting from him?”

“Who knows, but from what I saw, he kind of looked completely shocked by this turn of events, that being; him scenting out his own kin. Has yet to figure out if it’s a boy or a girl though. He didn’t get up close and personal, from what I can tell. I’m guessing Whit ran past him at some point, without looking at him.”

Chapter 54 1

“I know that, I also believe you have nothing to worry about, myself and Mala will be there as well, so don’t fear his Alpha mentality or temper.”
