Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 65

Bella

Gretta looked at her after Parker and his unit had left the office, and she sighed quite heavily. “I think Bella, that Parker was actually deceived by his current Luna.” She shook her head “A Goddess–Gifted at that… don’t understand that at all. But I believe he knew nothing of Whitney’s birth, or that deal that was made.”

“I know.” She nodded “I got that, but how can that happen? She’s his Goddess–Gifted. Wouldn’t she love him, only been with him two weeks even.” She couldn’t understand some people.

“It’s not often you’d see a Luna betray her Alpha Mate, not unless…Gretta huffed now “they are chosen mates by a forced union. It’s more likely to happen in a situation like you and Parker were actually in. The meshing of bloodlines to stop a war, so the deceit is an act of revenge on the Luna’s part,Gretta stated.

“I seriously doubt that was it.” Bella shook her head, “I saw her the day she arrived, she displayed signs of possessiveness over him when coming face to face with me.” that girl had already known he had a Mate, and still she tried to touch him, had wanted to do so, even knowing it would cause Bella to feel the pains of betrayal.

She’d not really thought about it back then, but maybe that was the first sign of Carina’s true nature. Perhaps she wasn’t a nice person in the beginning, and liked to inflict pain on others. Some people got off on having power over others and causing them pain.

She didn’t know anything about the woman, hadn’t needed to know. That woman coming into the pack had been her freedom, that was all Bella had thought about at the time, and she’d not kept track of Parker or his pack, certainly not his Mate. Why would she?

“Whit?” she asked Gretta.

“Let’s just leave that for now, but it is likely they’ll meet at some point in time, the near future, I would imagine.” Gretta nodded.

“The council’s verdict won’t see me just having to hand him over to Parker, will it?” she asked.

r “Unlikely, you did everything you were supposed to. I do foresee Parker will have rights to see his son after this. You’ll have to think about that. Some sort of arrangement between the two of you. From what I just heard, Parker is going to want one… Although it’s not like the two packs are next door to each other, they are states apart, so visitation rights I imagine.”

“Your opinion on the contract, Gretta?” Bella asked.

“Likely it will be null and voided. When he gets to the bottom of the matter, it’s possible he might even request the council to help get to the crux of it. Leave us with no doubt about his involvement in all of this.

“If it was me,” Aston stated, “I’d order the truth out of that girl, put all those emails in front of her right before I did it. Demand answers.”

Bella looked at him. “That will depend on his mating alliance and the clauses in it.” Bella stated “He’ll follow it to the letter, regardless of what she’s done, that’s who he is, believes keeping a deal stops

warring.”

“He sounds like a decent Alpha.” Gretta stated, “I know your bond with him wasn’t traditional Bella, but

you’ll likely be asked by Parker himself, to move back to his pack.”

“I don’t think so.” she shook her head.

“He will, the minute he finds out Milly is bled to you and has no father. That’s exactly what he will do.” Aston stated “That man has had eyes for you, from the moment he saw you inside this pack a year ago. I dare say he still misses you deep down.”

“It wasn’t like that.” Bella shook her head with a frown.

“You say that,” Gretta stated “But I just heard from Parker himself, as did everyone in this room, you included, that if you’d wanted to stay there as his Luna back then, he’d have rejected his Goddess–Gifted

for you… I dare say the man and his wolf were in love with you. Even if you didn’t know it.”

“I doubt that very much.” She shook her head “I was chosen, just to be rejected.” She reminded them.

“Mm, maybe in the beginning, but you were together for eight years, it’s likely he was fully bonded to you. But because of your own feelings on the matter, maybe you just never realised it, or didn’t want to see it.” Gretta told her. “You were always waiting on the day he brought his Goddess–Gifted home, so you’d be released from him, yes?”

“Yes.” She nodded.

“Well, from what I just saw and heard. I’d say Gretta is right.” Aston murmured “Parker fell in love with you at some point, but if he follows his contracts to the letter, and I’ve seen your mating alliance. It’s likely he was also constrained by it, so you never saw how he truly felt.”

“I didn’t love him,” Bella stated simply.

“But you also don’t hate him either. You felt like you fitted into that pack better than your home pack.” Gretta nodded. “Think about it, what you really want Bella, what is best for you, Whitney little Milly as well. All parties will have to be taken into consideration.”

She just stared at them all in this room and then sighed a little, and nodded. She couldn’t disagree with that statement. She had liked the pack, liked living within it.

They’d seen Gretta off, and she’d returned to the hospital. She’d already spoken with Whit, told him he was going to see his father at some point, though Parker had already stated it wouldn’t be this weekend, he’d abide by Gretta’s rules, but he would come back, and they would talk about it. Sort something out.

She collected Whit that afternoon and didn’t try to hide him. Parker, she knew, would keep his word, and they walked together to go and get Milly from the crèche, where she saw him look about. “You are not required to meet him at this time. Somethings need working out, until that happens, Gretta stated no.”
