Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 78

Belladonna

She stood with Whit and saw Parker and Kane off from the packhouse stairs. A part of her couldn’t really believe he was actually leaving and going back to his pack without Whit. He’d told her and Whitney that he would come back in a month to spend four or five days getting to know them. That they’d eventually work out a custody agreement of some sort.

She knew he’d already gotten permission from Aston to come back and be in the pack. She had been there when Parker had discussed it. Whit looked up at her after Parker left. “He’s weird.” He murmured and even Aston chuckled from next to her.

“It’s not weird Whit. Parker is just trying to show you that he respects not only your decision, but Bell’s as well. Though I personally don’t know many Alphas who would do what he’s doing.”

“Which is why it’s weird,” Whit stated.

“Which is what exactly?” Bella asked.

“Allowing you to see that it is your choice, but at the same time showing both you and Whit that he wants you inside his pack. That he would like to instate Whit as his heir, but that he won’t do so unless Whit himself wants that.” Aston smiled at her.

“He’s being respectful of you, Bell, treating you like an Alpha, and treating Whit as his son who he wants to get to know properly. I think the man will wait patiently for the two of you to make a decision and even respect what it will be. Regardless of if it’s not what he wants.”

“What decision?” Whit asked, looking at Aston with a slight frown.

“Moving to his pack, that is what he wants. But he wants it to be completely your decision. I don’t see Parker just trying to pack you up and take you back to his pack like so many others would do.” Aston nodded. “I don’t think that is who he is.”

“He’d get his butt kicked by the Luna if he tried it.” Whit chuckled.

“Yes, he would.Aston nodded. “But that’s not the reason for him waiting Whit.” Aston stated and waved Whit off, and the boy headed for school. “How do you feel Bell?” he asked her.

“I don’t know. She answered honestly. “I’ve never thought about going back.” And she hadn’t, but now she knew that Parker had been robbed of knowing about Whit and he had files on her home pack inside his pack. Files he was willing to let her look at. He’d also offered to look into her mother. Who she was, and maybe he could find out where she was.

“I should go to the hospital,” she stated and Aston nodded.

She attended rounds and sat in her office, and did something she’d not done before: logged into the intranet and checked on her home pack. She had never been interested in knowing what was going on

inside that place, because she’d not liked growing up there.

She put the pack’s name in and stared at the words ‘Pack Dissolved‘. There was no pack anymore. She clicked on the link that was attached to it and found out that it had been dissolved 7 years ago under her half–brother’s reign. Lack of growth was the reason why. She could see that the pack had been barely 200 wolves when it had been dissolved and that those wolves had been sent to other packs.

There was a list of packs that the wolves had gone to, though it didn’t state who went where. She understood that, it was likely to protect them. She read down the list and shook her head. Some of those wolves were in Parker’s subsidiary packs, but none in the main pack..

After his words about her father, she doubted any of her actual family or siblings were there. Certainly not her father or the Luna she didn’t think. She put her father’s name into the search bar and found that he’d been sent to the Wolfen Kingdom along with his Luna for crimes against wolves, it read. The date preceded the dissolving of the pack.

She sighed and leaned back in her chair and wondered if her mother was one of the wolves that Parker had stated had been enslaved into his pack. She couldn’t even put the woman’s name into the search bar because she didn’t know it. Freya claimed to be her mothers wolf but had never stated her mother’s name, not once.

It was odd, but she wouldn’t cough it up, simply stated “Leave her be, she needs peace.” Those words echoed inside her mind along with Parkers “Your father was a brute. And she just knew her mother had not been a willing participant in her conception. Though her grandmother had told her he’d not wanted it either.

Her brain was ticking and trying to come up with how that could come about. She put her former Luna’s name into the search bar, and it read the same as her father’s; crimes against wolves. So likely the two of them were both rotten and had done something. She wondered about that very thing.

Thought about herself, knew that she’d not been the only baby born that year. There had been an explosion of wolfen pups all around the same time she was born. Kind of like what happened when she’d gone into heat when mated to Parker, and a few months later between 40 and 60 pups would be born

What

She was staring at her computer, her thumb tapping absently as she thought about it. What if her mother was just like her? Though Bella also now knew that if she had sex on a super moon, if she got all hopped up and mated like crazy, that also produced a mass explosion of pups here within the Hollowed Moon.

She didn’t go into heat but was affected by the closeness of the moon to the earth, though that had only happened after being Mated by Parker. She’d not really been affected by it prior to that. That was a full curiosity, the Hollowed Moon had grown a lot over the years.

She wondered if being mated negated the effects of the super moon on her, or having a heat did that. If whatever it was about her only happened to her after being mated by a wolf and if rejected, the super moon continued the effects of whatever type of wolf she truly was.

Freya wasn’t allowed to show herself because she’d be treated just like her mother was, she just knew it

all had to be related to who her mother was, maybe what she was. Though she had been wolfen if Freya. was her wolf. She sighed, it was all too confusing and too much of the unknown. She couldn’t figure it out without any knowledge of her mother.

you were not like your mother. So you were of no use to them.

Bella sighed herself now. She had no idea what Freya and Selena talked about, because she was rendered unconscious by her own Goddess, so she wasn’t privy to their discussions. ‘You don’t make sense to me, you know that, right?‘
