Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 82

Parker

He was surprised to see Whitney walking into the packhouse dining hall that morning. It was only an hour after sunrise. He usually had breakfast with his mother and sister, the other children at the orphanage. Which Parker saw no need to interrupt. He liked how well the boy got on with all the other children here. Not once had he seen him discriminate against any child, regardless of bloodline. He couldn’t say rank because even the omega bloodlines inside this pack were warrior ranked, and the kitchen chef was an Elite Warrior bloodline. Something one would usually attribute to an omega bloodline in other packs.

Whit smiled at him and got breakfast, then came and sat down at his table. Parker smiled at him, “Morning Whitney.” He greeted him.

“Hi.” The boy nodded right back.

Parker could feel his unit all looking at him, they were due to leave the pack tomorrow. He watched as Whitney pushed his food around on his plate for a moment before looking at him. He knew there was something he wanted to ask. Because his boy appeared nervous to him.

“I’d like to see your pack,” he stated after a moment.

Parker’s smile widened at those very words. “I would like to show it to you,” he nodded.

“The Easter break starts on Monday,” Whitney stated.

“It does. Would you like to go back with us tomorrow?” he asked hopefully.

Whitney nodded. “I’m not saying that I’ll stay there.”

“Understood.” Parker nodded, and he heard Shannon clear his voice and found his Gamma looking right at him and even knew why. Belladonna was not here for this conversation. “Have you talked to your mother about this?” he asked. There was no way he was going to be allowed to take Whitney with him if Belladonna didn’t agree to it.

“Yes, she told me to come and tell you. Mum also said she and Milly would go as well. I don’t think she’d let me go on my own anyway,” Whitney told him.

“I highly doubt it,” Parker agreed. “I’d want your mother and sister to come as well. I wouldn’t want her to be here worried about you or that I would try to keep you against your will.”

“Freya would eat you alive if you tried that,” Whitney snorted.

“Have you seen her?” Parker asked.

“Yes and ridden her when I was a small child.” Whit smiled. “She’s very pretty.”

“Would you tell me what she looks like?” Parker asked curiously.

“No, if she wanted you to see her, she would let you.” Whitney shrugged. “Just me and Aston have seen

her. I think.”

“And some strange woman that comes and goes, from this pack, when she feels like it.” Parker nodded. That much he did know

“Mm.” Whitney nodded but said nothing more. It was likely Parker thought that the boy knew who she was as well. Everyone was tight–lipped about the situation, it seemed.

“Your mother’s wolf is a bit of a mystery,” Parker stated.

“Yes,” Whitney agreed. “Even to mum, Freya claims I’m not even hers, Just mum and yours.” Whitney shook his head.

Parker did as well. It was a very odd thing for a wolf to state, because they were one and the same. But he also understood it to a degree at the same time. He nor Vex had been allowed to mate with Freya, so the boy wasn’t considered by her wolf as hers, just Belladonna’s.

“Yes, I assure you it’s also all in her favour, her and the children’s,” he smiled at Aston. He’d worked on it months ago, not a mating alliance, not a pack deal, just a contract which saw Belladonna have the right to visit Lustrous Moon anytime she or Whitney wanted to, and for as long as they wanted to stay inside his pack. It also saw them be able to leave and return to the Hollowed Moon at any given time, during their stay, for any reason they saw fit. That he wouldn’t stop them from leaving.
