Part 8: Freya, Something is wrong
Freya
She was using her own will to direct Bella to where she felt she needed to be. Though Bella thought she was going for a stroll, she was not. They were in the packhouse and up on the top floor, a place not normally allowed for most, but Freya didn’t think Parker would really care, she’d been watching him for the past six months.
They were staring at the Delta suite door and on the other side of it was Bridgit, a she–wolf that needed Freya’s direct help right this very minute, though if she helped her, this was going to be the last time she could help anyone for a long time.
This she knew was what Selena was also waiting on, why she could feel the moon phase without having to look at the moon or the apps these wolves had. She just knew instinctively it was only three days until the new moon.
She also knew that Selena herself was inside this very pack waiting on this very moment, trailing Belladonna. It was in fact why Freya had woken up. She had felt Selena’s presence suddenly appear in the pack. She also now wondered if what she was feeling inside that room before her was Selena’s doing, in order to assert her will over Freya herself and force her to be removed from Bella.
The door opened as Bella turned the handle, and she found both Axel and Bridgit in the ensuite. Axel blinked at seeing her, and Freya huffed inside her mind. Now that she was face to face with Bridgit herself, she could tell the she–wolf was indeed pregnant, and not just with one pup but four; only one was no longer viable.
Freya had just three souls remaining within her to gift out, and if she gave them to this she–wolfs unborn pups that were barely created maybe a day or two since creation, those three pups would survive but her time here in the human realm would also be over and Selena was going to drag her back to the temple,
A place she found to be lonely and painful, regardless of having Mates there. One from every realm, only one was faithful to her, and she loved none of the others at all anymore. Her soul and heart belonged to just one, and he’d been murdered so long ago she could barely live her life, even though she had to.
She was no longer whole anymore, and she did not want anything to do with those that remained in the temple. Selena could Mate with them at will, but she herself would never let any of them touch her. They were Selena’s Mates not Freya’s as far as she was concerned. They had come along after her mate had been killed.
Freya understood why those Mates were there, of course, but that didn’t mean she had to love them, or be with them in any way. Only one was truly loyal, their siren mate. They’d had two completely loyal once out of those that were bound to the temple. But one had died at the hands of another, who had been jealous of Selena’s attention to him.
He’d been reborn now and got to live a life of his choosing. It didn’t mean that he hadn’t suffered though;
he’d been their bear mate, Holland. Selena still spent time with his reincarnation, had saved him from extinction, and she liked watching him, felt connected to him still, but let him live his new life unknowing who he’d been to them, he was free of them. No longer their mate.
“Bella?” Axel questioned their presence in his suite without permission and Freya surfaced and Bella passed out inside her mind, enveloped in the darkness. She saw Bridgit stare at her and knew why, no one inside this pack had ever seen her. But today was likely the last time anyone would see her in a very long time. A day inside the goddess’s realm was not a day here in the human realm. Time moved differently in their own realm.
She raised her hand and Axel dropped to the floor as her will rolled over him to render him unconscious, just like Bella was now inside her mind. “I will help you.” Freya told her. “He will be fine.” She told Bridgit and reached out to touch her.
Rolled her Goddess’s Calm over the she–wolf and picked her up as her eyes closed, carried her out into the bedroom and lay her down on the bed to sit and look at her.
“Your time is here,” Selena stated as she appeared in the bedroom on the other side of the bed.
“I’m aware.” Freya nodded and placed a hand on the bare abdomen of Bridgit and closed her eyes. Willed those last three souls she had carried within her to come forth, and guided them; three tiny bright white orbs of light with a deep bluish purple glow on the outer edges to Bridgit, and they passed through her body and into the tiny little barely there, fetuses, that would die without her help.
She felt darkness claim her vision and, though she knew she wasn’t unconscious, just no longer had the light of souls all around her, knew she could and would collect more in time and her eyes would return to the brilliant sparkle of the night sky. They were now not bright at all.
She lay a hand on Bridgit’s stomach and felt Selena’s hand overlay hers and knew they were together, giving those three souls a full Moon Goddess’s blessing to them.
Freya had held on to them, these very souls, for a very long time. They were three of their own priestesses, being reborn into a blessed life where they would be truly happy and safe from harm. Born as sisters, that would be loved and cherished by each other, truly loyal to each other and looked after by a Wolf of Destiny.
She felt tears spill down her face, and heard Selena murmur “You’ve done well, Freya, to bring them into a time where they can have freedom and love, peace… Only one left now.”
