Chosen Just To Be Rejected by Jennifer Francis novel Chapter 97

Bella

She sat looking at Bridgit laying there on the bed before her, as she heard Axel’s voice come from the ensuite, where she had last seen anything at all. She had once again been rendered unconscious, by her own wolf, this time and not Selena, and she knew it, she’d not seen Selena anywhere.

“She’s alright,” Bella told him as he came from the bathroom. “Everything will be fine now.”

Axel was standing there staring at her a little uncertain, she thought, “What did you do?” he asked.

“I did nothing.” She answered him honestly. “Freya, however, I don’t know. I can’t explain it, but she did something, told me that Bridgit and her three daughters will be just fine. Healthy.” She told him but didn’t tell him the rest, that would freak him out and stress him for months on end. So she kept that last bit to herself.

“W… What?” he stammered as he looked at Bridgit.

“That is all I know. Freya is a mystery even to me,” she stated simply, it was the truth.

“Three?”

She smiled a little as she watched him sit on the bed, when she moved aside for him to do so “Yes, triplets, all girls I believe.”

She stood and watched him reach out and touch his Mate, take her hand as Bridgit’s eyes fluttered opened, and then she looked about and frowned at where she was and sat herself up. “What happened?” she asked.

“I don’t know.” Bella answered her “I was unconscious, like yourself and Axel,” she stated.

Bridgit looked up at her from the bed and frowned at her, then leaned forward, and her eyes widened quite a bit. “Bella, what’s wrong with your eyes, are you in pain?”

“No, and nothing. Why?” she frowned and found both Axel and Bridgit staring at her now. She didn’t feel any pain, though she knew Freya was sleeping. It kind of felt as though she was looking out from behind her eyes, a heaviness to her mind.

She turned and looked about the bedroom. There was nothing wrong with her eyesight. She saw a mirror, walked over and looked at herself and her naturally dark blue eyes were no longer all dark blue.

She blinked as she saw iridescent blue around the pupils of her own eyes. ‘Freya?‘ she tried to raise her beast and got nothing for a long time then a snort of annoyance came from within her mind.

Bella didn’t understand that, and then a moment later she saw Freya open her eyes to look out at what she was seeing and saw that there was something wrong with Freya’s own eyes. ‘Your eyes are white.‘ She told Freya.

‘Normal, Freya answered and closed her eyes once more. ‘Your eyes are fine, she’s just looking is all.’ She could feel how drained Freya felt, and it scared her more than a little.

‘Are you dying?‘ Bella asked worriedly. Was this what she’d feared over the years, with Freya’s eyes getting less brilliant over time.

‘No, I can never die, that is my destiny. My work here is done, I’ll only wake once more. Let me sleep. And Freya curled up inside her mind and was sleeping again.

Bella stared at her reflection and bit her lip, wondering what the hell was going on… Freya could never die? That was her destiny? She’s just looking? Her work here was done! She thought about all of that as she stared at the brilliance of the blue in her eyes and then turned and excused herself from the suite. She needed a minute, likely more than a minute.

Bella wondered now if Parker was right after all? Freya wasn’t her wolf… but she’d been with her for her entire life. How was she supposed to deal with something like that? What was wrong with Freya? Who was Freya and would she just slumber now until Bella herself died? Would she just move on to another when then happened?

She found Parker standing in front of her at the top of the stairs that led up to the alpha floor, and she stared at him. She was more than confused and didn’t even have anyone to talk to about this. No mother or grandmother, no one… it was just her, Whit and Milly.

“I think… Freya’s” she feit the catch in her throat and tears well up. “Is… leaving me.she stumbled over the words. She didn’t want that. No one wanted to lose their wolf.

She saw him step over to her. “It’ll be alright.” He told her gently, “I’ll be right here,” he pulled her gently into his chest and held her as she felt a sob rise up and then escape her.

“I, I don’t.”

“Shh,” he hugged her. “You’ve got me, you’ll always have me Belladonna. I will never leave you. Vex and will still be right here even if you lose Freya,” he murmured.

“Angry” He stated, “That you nearly told me.” he sighed a little. “Just leave it, I don’t need to know, if she
