Chapter 137

I was tricked. I had been very careful. I swore that Zane would be our first and only child. I heard Elianna’s screams the first time she gave birth. I heard her agony and it struck me more than any bullets and daggers ever did. Not to mention that when our son was born, we were in the middle of a war. It was traumatizing for us all. That was the day I thought I’d lost her.
There were nights when I still woke up dreaming about that. I had to hold her all throughout the morning or the entire day at times just to make sure I was out of that nightmare. Elianna would happily indulge me each time, assuring me through her soft kisses that she was back safe and sound in my arms and then I would make love to her which would make her walk uncomfortably but happily in her office as I stood by her side as her guard.
That was how we found a way that would work for both of us.
When Zane turned five, I was back on duty, doing what I was good at: protecting the Queen of all realms and becoming her advisor and soldier at the same time although we made sure that we would still have time for our son. Together, her workloads decreased which gave us ample time to spend with our son in the afternoon, to have dinner together, and still have time for ourselves when Zane was asleep.
It was a job more fulfilling than anything I’d had. I got to hold my wife, kiss her, and make love to her in between while making sure she could still perform her duties as the Queen. Frankly, her uncles were relieved that I stepped up to help her with her mana because the spells that were supposed to help bring back her eyesight did not work.
We had consulted Aurelia herself, even Terrence. Both assured us that nothing was wrong with how we did the spell, stating that maybe it was not the right time yet.
For years, I made sure to use protection. I gave her that tonic that our resident physician suggested. I thought Elianna had been diligently taking that. I was not aware that my naughty wife stopped since I’d been religiously giving her new bottles each month which she accepted without complaints.
Elianna got pregnant and I had to mask my worries because I saw how happy it made her, especially when we found out we would be having a princess. Despite my uncertainties, I had to admit that pregnancy suited her. She was always stunning but this time around? She was glowing every day.
When she screamed as she held my hand tightly, it was back again. The fear and helplessness within me. I wiped the sweat off her forehead and kissed her there. “You are doing good, love.”
If only I could help give birth, I would. Our eyes locked. Unlike me, my wife’s eyes were calm and determined despite her obvious struggles. That was how I knew it was going to be fine.
I had the strongest wife.
The most beautiful too.
When she was this determined, nothing was ever impossible. She made sure that this time would be different for all of us. For one, I was with her, holding her through it.
After almost three hours, we all heard our daughter’s first cry. All of my wife’s earlier courage melted as she sobbed when the doctor handed her to Elianna after cleaning her up. She was the daintiest thing I had ever seen and the most adorable as
well.
Elianna held her for the first time as congratulatory words erupted inside the room. This time, we welcomed our child together. I wiped the tears off her cheeks before dropping another kiss on her forehead and on her mouth, pride and warmth filled my chest.

Chapter 137
“I am so proud of you,” I whispered. “I love you. Both of you.”
Elianna gave me her sweetest smile. “I love you, Creed. I love being owned by you.”

Ten years together and my heart still raced at the sight of that smile. Ten years and I still utter a prayer to express my gratitude for being claimed by her. Ten years and she was still the loveliest woman I had ever laid on, and I knew it would remain that way fifty or even a hundred years down the line.
An hour later, her room was filled with the guests who couldn’t wait to see Maria Regina or Mari to us. Her mother, followed by her uncles, dashed in. And then her friends along with my sister. Zane ran to us including Aidan, Silver and Leo’s only
child.
Aurelia’s eyes turned white for a few seconds after seeing Mari. It was her gift. Being able to have glimpses of the future.
“Why? What is it?” I asked warily. “What did you see?”
She shook her head. “Very different. Mari is going to be stronger than all the tamers that existed before her. The princess is going to be too powerful…” she smiled. “And too much of a trouble that I don’t think one man is enough to keep her. She might need more than just one mate to balance the power and chaos within her.”
