Chapter 158

(Ari)

“Say it, Gray. Say you are dropping out and I will process your documents right away.”

Satan couldn’t wait to get me out of his sight. That was already a win for me. I used my remaining energy to lift my head and whispered in his car, “No fucking way, Satan.”

(Sev)

“I’m sorry I’m late,” Earl said as he rushed to sit in front of our table. Four of my enforcers were present at the club tonight. Our pack was sent to handle the rebels in the West. We finished early and so I gathered my most trusted men to meet me here although Earl was a bit late because he was the one who had to tie the loose ends in the warehouse that we demolished. He still smelled of gasoline and smoke as he drank from the glass in front of him. “So, what’s your announcement, Alpha?”

I cleared my throat. “I’ve thought about this for a while and I think all of you should know.” I cast a glance at each of them and announced, “I’m gay.”

Earl spat his food, James and Roy coughed, while Ian spilled his drink. The liquor was still dripping down his mouth when he stared at me with wide eyes. All four of them looked at me like they were seeing me for the first time as their jaws dropped.

“It’s true.” I added when they seemed to be waiting for the punchline. There was none. “I like someone. A man. An alpha.”

None of them spoke. They kept looking at me like I was out of my mind. And I could relate. These past few weeks, I also thought I needed to see a doctor. I’d gone to clubs after every task. I had been with women, even with omegas with faces as beautiful as Ari. The only difference was they were soft, willing, and submissive. All of them were willing to join me on my bed.

But after meeting Ari, none of those women looked right to me. They said the right words and still, I found myself recalling my banters with Ari. I was surrounded by dozens of women, and I didn’t want to touch any of them. All I wanted was my roommate. That was when the truth kicked in and I’d confirmed it.

I was fucking gay for him.

My enforcers threw swift glances at each other and were elbowing each other. Finally, it was Ian who spoke first. He wiped the liquid off his mouth. “To be honest, lately we’ve been… hearing some strange things lately, alpha, things we didn’t want to believe in at first.”

The guys nodded.

“What things? Get straight to the damn point, Ian.”

“They said there’s this alpha roaming around the dorm at night, demanding to see all the students, and commanding them to smile for him like some creep. Do you happen to know him, alpha?”

“No. Like you said, only creeps do that. And I don’t know anyone like that.”

I looked away, remembering the times I did exactly that. I’d disturbed even the first-and second-years’ training rooms.

‘You. Show me your smile, I remembered snarling at the alpha who passed by me.

‘What the heck, man-‘the student paused upon seeing who I was. His face turned ashen. ‘Sebastian? It’s you? W-why?”

Just fucking do it.’

The student smiled and I almost threw up. It happened again and again to every student I grabbed. I needed comparison. I needed to know that I was still sane. Out of all the men I met in and out of the Academy, only Ari’s smile was pretty. Only his smile didn’t look ridiculous to me. Only his smile did something strange to my chest. Only his laughter made me rethink my life choices. Only his voice didn’t annoy me and my wolf.

Ari was the only alpha whose hands I wanted to hold, the only one whose lips had given me sleepless nights. I kept thinking about them and wondering what it would be like to kiss them. I kept wanting to break the rules I’d set on myself. I wanted to know what touching him felt like. I thought about his cock and as days went by, each time I would race with him to the en suite bathroom and he was forced to share the shower with me, I realized that I was no longer as bothered by it. If anything, his cock was the only one I didn’t mind looking at.

Ari was the only man who made me curious, who made me want to screw my reputation and declare to anyone that he belonged to me so his admirers, men and women combined, could stop having hopes about having him.

Because he belonged to me. And I knew I would have to fight Aidan for this, but I was not ready to give up on the mate bond by the end of the month.

“It’s him,” Earl said, shaking his head.

“Definitely,” Roy agreed.

“I doubted it. I even smacked Austin when he told me about it. I defended your honor. It turned out it was really you,” James said and sighed although there was no real judgment in their eyes. “What happened to you, alpha?”

“Ari happened.”

That was the most I could say.

“This is a surprise. But as our alpha, naturally, you’ll have our support,” Earl stated and raised his glass. “Cheers to your… awakening?”

I knew I made the right choice by telling them first. The enforcers grinned and raised their glasses. I lifted my bottle. “Thanks. So, do any of you know how to court an alpha? Especially one with a rude personality and a sharp tongue?”

Two of them looked on the internet, another one swore he would get me a book about it, while the other one was as clueless as me, so he only ordered another glass of wine while cheering me on this new ‘endeavor.’

We were in our favorite club, exclusive only for selected men. And usually when I walked in, I would step out the next morning, satiated and relaxed after a night with a woman or two.

We entered the club at six in the evening and I left at eight. Even the guards looked surprised.

Tonight, I couldn’t wait to go back to the dorm and see Ari although I didn’t have to walk all the way up our room to do that. There were students circling around the quadrangle when I reached the Academy and when I saw who they were looking at, my heart nearly stopped.

It was Ari.

Doing laps alone. He was sweating, his steps were weak and slow, and he looked pale. His mouth was bleeding and yet, he was still going through it.

“What the heck happened?” I asked one of the students.

“Prof. Laurent is punishing him.”

“What? Why?”

“They said it’s because of his insolence.”

“How long has he been running like that?”

“Three hours now.”

“How long is the punishment supposed to last?”

“Five.”
