Claimed By My Husband's Enemy novel Chapter 168

Chapter 168

(Aidan)

One week ago…

“I want a slow, painful death for all of them, Aidan. By fire, if possible. I want each of them to look at their victims’ faces as they cry and scream from pure agony.”

The Queen clenched her hands. Her wolf seethed in fury. She was typically an epitome of calmness. She avoided the gore and violence all these years. She could not take seeing the blood on my shirt. It did not matter if the blood was from my enemies.

This was the first time I saw this ruthless side of her. If the King did not stop her, she would have marched towards the House Lemadon with the royal soldiers behind her. Since she cannot personally intrude with the pack affairs, she wanted to send me there, claiming it was the best place for me to release all the darkness in me. In fact, she advised me to go all out.

‘The more blood, the more screams, the better. Spare no one, Aidan. Give them hell.’

Words that shocked even my father.

The flat screen nearby continued showcasing the faces of the omegas that Grigor Donovan from Pack Lemadon arranged for the illegal auction house where only the wealthiest and most influential alphas could

enter.

If I remembered correctly, Sebastian’s pack dealt with them for possessing illegal weapons and set their warehouse on fire. It was their first recorded offense; they were let off easily. There were two or three kidnapping reports about them which the council ended up dismissing for lack of evidence after scouring their pack territory.

The Queen was still yet to tell me how she discovered a case as big as this. I only knew that she used one of her aides as a trap, spraying fake pheromones on her to make her appear an omega, enticing Simon, Grigor’s enforcer. She caught his attention in a club; he stalked her and abducted her. Four days later, her face showed up on the website as one of the omegas they would present during the auction.

“How did you get your hands on a case like this, ‘ma?” I asked, barely controlling my temper.

The Omega Protection Law was a project which the Dragon Queen, my mother, and the former Queen Lizbeth Benett along with their two female friends started during their younger days. Their goal was to provide a safe space for omegas, to live freely without a need to worry because of their designation. However, there were still alphas like Grigor and his clients who treated omegas as their plaything, who refused to acknowledge that those women ought to have the same influence as alphas. Omegas were supposed to be our equals. And they could not accept that.

Grigor’s business had been operating for years. That was how long our realm had been failing countless

omegas.

“This is all thanks to Ari.”

My stomach twisted. “What do you mean?”

“I asked the young man what it would take to leave you. To my surprise, what he wanted was not for himself, but for the trapped omegas. That is the main reason why I want you to take over, son. This is your mate’s wish. He was ready to give up anything, his life included, to take down the House of Lemadon, and set the women free.” The Queen handed me a worn out paper. “He gave me that sketch. And the agent I sent confirmed it.” She pointed at a specific area. “This is where they are hiding their victims.”

Present Time

Two operations were happening at once tonight. I led the invasion in Grigor’s pack myself while Zane, upon hearing the report, did not hesitate to come down and lead his own troop to the auction house to capture Donovan’s high-end clients. Last time I hear I had t

surrounded.

Chapter 168

All these years, our parents thought that I was the only ticking bomb heir that they had to worry about. It was because Zane was able to hide his demons well, especially in front of his parents. His darkness could rival mine or maybe worse, seeing as how much he blamed himself for his sister’s death. In front of his family and the public, Zane Black was the perfect prince, the ideal son. Too bad, the rebels or his enemies could no longer vouch how monstrous he could become and how much he played with his victims first. After all, dead people could no longer speak.

With Zane involved, I knew that no alphas in the auction house would live another day.

Tonight was supposed to be the presentation of the omegas. Our pack caught Grigor and the others red- handed, when they were in the middle of transporting them through a cargo truck.

As part of fulfilling my mother’s wish, I had the men tied together although some of their body parts were missing. Grigor, for one, was missing his tongue that I pulled out after he attempted to lie to me. He was also missing an arm after I let my beast have fun. It was the same with his enforcers and other pack members.

The female betas on our team were already guiding the omegas out of the basement. The ones in the cargo truck were moved to other vehicles. Some of the victims stayed to watch Pack Lemadon’s downfall. They needed this, the assurance that they were freed at last.

“T-thirteen?” One of the enforcers muttered with a surprise upon seeing Ari enter their territory.

A tight feeling spread across my chest.

It was then when it hit me.

This was the reason why Ari was wary of alphas, why she had to pretend to be one of us, why, no matter what I said and did, she refused to believe me.

My mate… was one of their victims.

One of the omegas we failed.

My chest constricted as my eyes began to water. I failed my mate so badly that I was not sure how to make it up to her.

Even in her alpha form, they could tell it was her. Ari didn’t look at them. She was busy looking at the omegas one by one as if frantically searching for one particular person. She ran into the basement and then ran back to where Grigor was. She did not mind whether they were burning. She ran straight to the fire and grabbed Grigor’s throat.

“Where is my sister? Where is Dani?!” she yelled, the stark fear evident in her eyes.

Grigor grinned through the blood in his mouth. Ari slammed her fist against his grinning face again and again before turning to Simon, asking the same question.

“Ari!”

Sebastian tried pulling her out of the fire, but she wouldn’t budge. I pushed them both away from the fire and pulled out Simon.

“Answer the goddamn question!” I growled.

The latter flinched; his battered wolf was too weak to open his eyes. But then he glanced at Ari and a deep laugh rumbled from his chest. “You will never find her. Your sister is gone! Gone forever!”

Ari’s knees gave out.

At the sight of her tears, blood roared in my ears. My claws pierced Simon’s useless heart and crushed it for all of his pack members to see. I stepped onto his dead body. Within minutes, I forgot my promise to my mother as I tore each and every heart of the men in House of Lemadon and burned them.

I made sure that Grigor was still alive to watch it all happen. When it was his turn, terror filled his eyes. He tried to beg for his life through his howling wolf. It was too late. I picked up his body and presented him to my

mate.
