**He Asked Me to Leave My Dreams, So I Decided to Make Him One of Them**
**by Mira Lorian**
**Chapter 256**

Killian’s fate was sealed, and it was a cruel twist of irony that he would never again behold her face. Even in this moment of despair, as he stood on the gallows, the high platform where the king and queen should have been seated felt achingly empty. The space beside the king remained devoid of her presence, a stark reminder of her absence.

He would have welcomed her disdain, the sharpness of her contempt, if only it meant he could catch a glimpse of her one last time. Yet, she was nowhere to be found, not even to cast a scornful glance in his direction.

The tumult of emotions swirled within him, a storm of regret and longing. As he awaited his turn, he watched the loyal warriors who had once stood by his side, now facing their grim fate one by one. Each man met a wretched end, their bodies thrashing against the noose, fighting against the inevitable until their strength finally faltered. The only escape was death, and it loomed closer with every passing moment.

Around them, a crowd had gathered, their faces painted with horror as they bore witness to the spectacle. Gasps erupted from the onlookers, yet their eyes remained glued to the unfolding tragedy. Some cheered as each traitor fell, their voices ringing out in cruel delight, while others hurled curses, venomous words aimed at the choices that had led these men to this dreadful end.

In their final moments, many of the warriors succumbed to fear, their bodies betraying them as they lost control. It was a humiliating sight, one that the king seemed to relish, a testament to their disgrace. For every life extinguished, lifeless bodies were removed, making way for the next unfortunate soul to follow the same path to doom.

Killian could feel the noose tightening around his neck, and as he met the king’s icy gaze, he felt a chill run down his spine. The king’s eyes were devoid of warmth, cold and unfeeling, as if this was merely a dull performance that he wished to conclude swiftly.

“Let me have one wish! Let me see the queen!” Killian’s voice rang out, desperate and raw, echoing through the air. “Please, let me see her!” he pleaded, his heart racing with urgency.

But his cries fell on deaf ears; the execution proceeded without a hint of hesitation.

“Let me… see her…” Killian gasped, the world around him fading as he struggled against the constricting rope. Panic surged through him, and he felt the air escape his lungs, his vision blurring as the pressure mounted.

In front of a sea of faces, he lost all dignity, a warm rush of shame flooding through him as he succumbed to the unbearable pain. Yet, just as his consciousness began to slip away, a familiar voice broke through the chaos, calling out to him.

In that fleeting moment, the contemptuous expressions of the crowd dissolved, replaced by the radiant image of Jasmine. She stood amidst a garden bursting with vibrant blooms, dressed in a flowing white gown, her smile like a beacon of hope.

“Come with me,” Jasmine beckoned softly, her hand reaching out to him. The warmth of her touch felt achingly real, and Killian grasped her hand, yearning to escape the torment of his reality.

As he stood at the threshold of his life’s end, it was not Rania who came to him, but Jasmine—the woman who had loved him unconditionally, here to alleviate his suffering.

“Are you… real?” he stammered, his voice trembling as he felt the warmth radiating from her hand.

“Why would you doubt my existence?” Jasmine replied with a gentle grin. “Even if I am but a figment, my love for you is undeniably real.” With that, she led him away from the pain that had consumed him.

Yet, as they walked together, a new ache gripped Killian’s heart, a heavy weight of guilt crashing down upon him like a relentless wave. “I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for everything I put you through. I’m sorry for all the pain I caused you. I regret it all,” he confessed, his voice breaking.
