Chapter 276
Rania knew that Maximus would love her no matter what. He stayed with her even when he knew that she couldn’t give him an heir.
Closing her eyes, she hugged her mate a little bit tighter. She didn’t want to let him go. He loved her too much to the point, it was going to hurt himself and that was the last thing that Rania wanted. She didn’t want him to hurt himself for her.
They had not yet talked about this, and Maximus had never asked either, but Rania knew that Maximus had learned about the fact that she couldn’t give him a child, or even the fact that she had a miscarriage.
There was no way Karin didn’t report it to him…
However, Rania was too afraid to bring up the topic. She was a coward and she knew that.
“Rania?” Maximus could feel there was something not right with his mate, there was a tensed emotion that came from their bond and he pushed her head away from him slightly to find her was crying. “What is it? What happened? Why are you crying? Did I do something wrong?”
Maximus tried to remember what he had done wrong.
“Is it because of what I am saying?” Maximus didn’t think what he said was wrong, but he apologized to her anyway. “Hey, I am sorry. I am sorry, okay.”
“You don’t even know what you are sorry for,” Rania said, as she wiped her tears.
“I don’t know, but whatever it is that makes you sad it is wrong.” Maximus kissed her forehead gently, giving her the comfort that she wanted. “I am sorry.”
Rania shook her head. “Please, don’t apologize, you did nothing wrong. I…” she felt the words choked in her throat. She couldn’t let it out. “I…”
“It’s okay, love.” Maximus hugged her a little bit tighter and tangled their legs together. “It’s okay.”
Yet, Rania kept shaking her head. There was nothing okay, unless she told him what she felt. “I had a miscarriage,” Rania finally said it. “And because of that… no.” Rania shook her head again and more tears fell on her cheeks. “Even before that… I can’t bear you a child. I can’t give you an heir, Max. I will never be what you wanted.”
Maximus kissed her forehead and just like what Rania thought, Maximus had known about this, because he didn’t look surprise at all when he heard her confession.
“I know. I know that, love.” Maximus could feel her pain, his own pain, but at the same time, he felt the relief because they finally were going to talk about this.
There was a huge rift between them, even when they were being affectionate with each other because they kept it away.
They really needed to rip the bandage open for the
to be able to face it.
“I am sorry.”
“Ssh…” Maximus kissed her lips to shut her up. “I don’t want to hear that. I don’t want you to apologize for the thing that you didn’t do. For the thing that is not your fault.” If anything, Maximus felt he was the one at fault here.
If only… if only he was not stupid enough… if only he believed her before… she might be able to keep her pregnancy and right now, their child would be close to one year. If only…
However, Maximus didn’t want to go down that rabbit hole and Blamed himself in front of Rania, because he knew his mate wouldn’t allow that and it only made her feel bad.

“Don’t blame yourself, Rania. Don’t. I don’t want to hear that, and you shouldn’t feel that way” Maximus hugged her a little bit tighter, squeezed her body slightly. “I love you, no matter what we will go through this together.”
“But…” Rania was sobbing now. “But, what you are going to do with the heir? What you are going to do about that? You can’t without an heir, the kingdom needed an heir.”
Maximus kissed her forehead again. “We are going to think about that. You don’t need to worry. We will figure something oul.”
Rania shook her head. “This is not something that you can fix without figuring it out. There is no figuring out. I can’t be fixed.”
“There is nothing about you that need to be fixed. You are
