It was a long time later when Eli was too tired to walk and then stop near a river. She crouched down at the riverbank and washed her face clean.

The water was cold, it was awake all of her nerves, helping her to stay in this reality.

“Who is there?” Eli immediately turned around because she felt there was someone near her. “Who is there?” She fixed her eyes at one spot, where she was sure, there was this intruder.

Eli tried to sniff the air, but because she cried too much, she couldn’t identify this person’s scent correctly.

However, it didn’t take long for Eli to know who had come after her, because Eiten showed up behind the bushes in his wolf form.

He shifted back into his human form when he got close to Eli, and that was the time when Eli snapped back.

“Eli…” Eiten called her name gently, there was a desperation in his voice, he stretched out his hand to touch her, but Eli immediately stood up, she looked at Eiten with fear in her eyes. This sight saddened the royal gamma. “It’s okay, Eli.”

Eiten was always good with his words, he was full of surprises and most of the time, he knew what to say. He even could get close to Rania since the beginning without any real problem.

Yet, at this moment, he didn’t know what to do, or what to say. He didn’t want to scare Eli, neither he wanted her to be afraid of him, or even ashamed of herself.

“No, please leave…” Eli said, she shook her head, her throat was caving in. She could feel the bile in her mouth and tears that threatened to stream down her face.

She didn’t want to cry, but it was so hard to hold back her feeling.

“I am not going to leave anywhere without you,” Eiten said with conviction. “I will be here with you if you don’t want to come with me back to the pack house.”

“No, please… gamma Eiten.” Eli lowered her head in ashamed. “Please, leave, and forget everything about me… it is better if…” she couldn’t finish her words.
