“What is that?” Maximus frowned when he saw a little girl in Raja’s arms, curled comfortably against her chest, while sleeping.

“She is not a thing. Max. She is Bella,” Rania chided him lightly because of his question. “Be quiet, you will wake her up, Rania warned him.

Bella was sleeping peacefully with Rania after she told her a few children stories. Earlier, Eiten came to her in a rush and made Rania look after Bella for a while.

Rania didn’t know why Eiten was in a rush, but from the look of, it must be something important, therefore, she didn’t ask further.

However, it had been more than five hours, but the gamma had not yet come back and the time was so close to midnight. Rania wondered if something bad happened between Eiten and Eli? Did their conversation didn’t go well? She hoped Eiten could convince Eli to come with them.

For Rania herself, she felt a little bit sad because she couldn’t go to the location that she wanted to visit.

Tomorrow, they had to leave and this time, Maximus wouldn’t agree to postpone it, especially when there were a lot of envoys from the other kingdoms, who had come. This morning, Maximus received a news that princess Abigail from Gharand kingdom had arrived with her brothers, while their father would come later.

“Put her somewhere else,” Maximus said, giving a side look to the baby in Rania’s arms. He was still not happy because this little thing occupied his mate.

He had spent the whole day without her, and now when he came back, he found this little creature monopolized his mate. Of course, this was not something he imagined would happen when he returned as soon as possible.

However, on the other hand, Rania chuckled when she saw the look on Maximus’s face, he furrowed his brows deeply, as if he was going to throw Bella away from her arms.

“Seriously, Max, she is just a child.” Rania patted the spot next to her.

“A child, who doesn’t know that she is not welcome here.”

“Max.” Rania hit his arm lightly and then pulled him down, so he could sit down next to her.

“Is this the child from Eiten’s mate?” Maximus looked at Bella closely. Her lips were slightly ajar, as she snored softly.

“Yes. Don’t you think she is cute?”

“No. Our child will be cuter.”

Maximus immediately stopped himself, because he knew it was a sensitive topic for Rania. He only answered that way out of instinct, and didn’t think much about it.

After the words came out of his mouth, Maximus looked at Rania, she still looked as calm as ever, but the king still couldn’t feel at ease.

“I am sorry, that comes out of nowhere.” Maximus kissed Rania’s cheek.

“Don’t worry,” Rania said with a chuckle, as if Maximus’s slipped off was nothing for her. “I am not angry. I am fine.” She grinned at him. “You are right, our child will be cuter.”

Maximus didn’t know how to respond to that, so he kissed her forehead again, and stared at the little girl in Rania’s arms.

Thankfully, Eiten came not so long after, he knocked on the door and grinned from ear to ear to Rania when he saw Bella was sleeping in her arms.

“Sorry, I lost track of time.” Eiten scratched his head. “Thank you for looking after her.” He took Bella from Rania’s arms. “Seeing your expression, can I assume that everything went well Rania couldn’t even be upset with him, because he looked very happy, the royal gamma was literally beaming. His eyes lit up, as if there were stars there.

“It is more than well.” Eiten cradled Bella in his arms. The little girl stirred, but she didn’t wake up, she snuggled closer against his chest, which made her look very small against the gamma’s chest. “It’s perfect. Oh, Rania. I would love to tell you everything!”

If only Eiten didn’t have Bella in his arms, Rania was sure he was going to jump up and down because of how happy he was.

Seeing that, Rania laughed lightly. “I am happy for you.” Rania patted Eiten’s shoulder. “Tell me about it later, take her to her bedroom now, the wind outside is rather chill.”

“Yes, yes!” Eiten then leaned over to kiss Rania’s head. It was a chaste kiss, like a kiss to a sibling.
