Roana.
“Draken Mortia?” I whispered, my chest tightening painfully as my breath stuttered. A dull ache spread through my ribs as if my lungs were shrinking. “What are you doing here?”
Cyrus’s grip tightened immediately, his arm hard around me as low growl rumbled in his chest. “You know him?”
I turned my face instinctively into his chest, my cheek brushing gainst the fabric, clinging to the warmth of his presence as my fingers curled into his clothes. “He is a Mortia,” I said, my voe trembling despite myself. “My possible brother!”
Draken Mortia walked toward us with slow, deliberate steps. His aze never left my face. “Possible brother?” he said, lips curling slightly. “I am your brother, Roana. Accept it or not.” His voice was sharp, controlled, but his jaw tightened as if holding something back.
“How did you get in? Is there any way to get out? Tell me, now!” Cassian cut in harshly. He didn’t bother hiding his urgency. His body trembled violently, heat waves rolling off his burned skin, the flesh on his back raw and blistered, yet his arms stayed locked around me as if letting go would kill him.
“Cassian.” I said, my hands shaking as I tried to steady him, my fingers hovering helplessly near his wounds. “You need to treat yourself first. We can talk about it-!”
“No!” His voice dropped cold and absolute as he looked at me, his eyes darkening. “We need to leave. The fire won’t be merciful to us.”
He turned sharply toward Draken, and in a blink his arm shot out, gripping Draken by the neck.
“What are you doing?” Draken gasped, shock flashing across his face as his body stiffened.
“How did you enter?” Cassian demanded, his grip tightening as his teeth clenched. “Tell me. Or take her if you want to live!” His eyes burned redder, veins standing out as desperation clawed its way through his restraint.
I reached for him instinctively, panic tightening my throat, but Draken suddenly smirked despite the hold. “I don’t need a way to enter anywhere,” he said calmly. “But I can take Roana ou”
Cassian froze. His eyes widened just a fraction-shock, then hope flickering dangerously fast. His grip loosened slightly as he forced himself to compose his expression. “Are you sure you can take her out?” he asked, voice low and lethal. “If you are lying, I will kill you right now.”
Draken’s gaze slid to me, his smirk deepening. “I don’t mind,” he said. “But I can’t take her against her will.”
Cassian’s attention snapped to me immediately, his breath uneven. Cyrus’s jaw curved into a faint, reassuring smile as he slowly leaned down and pressed his forehead gently to mine. “Go with him,” he said softly. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure he takes you out of this place.”
“I am not going!” I said firmly, shaking my head as my grip tightened on him. “Not without you!”
He let out a soft chuckle, breath warm against my ear, as if everything was fine. “Come on Right now, because of you, I can’t break the wall,” he said lightly, “You’re owning both my arms. I can’t make a move.”
I stared at him in disbelief, my heart pounding. “You can break the wall?”
“Do I look that weak?” he smirked, leaning closer despite the pai etched across his face. “I thought you already knew how great my stamina is.”
Heat rushed to my face, my stomach twisting tightly. “You are spid,” I muttered, my voice cracking. “Who jokes like this at a time like this?”

I nodded slowly, swallowing hard. “But promise me that you will get out of this place,” I whispered, my voice barely holding together. “Ill be waiting outside”
“I don’t break promises he whispered back.
Suddenly, he shifted backward. My breath caught painfully when I saw him fully. Wounds everywhere. Burned, torn skin. Blood and ash clung to him. Tears flooded my eyes as my hand lifted on instinct, trembling as I tried to touch his shoulder.
“Cassian. you are-
He stopped me, his hands coming up to cup my face firmly, his thumbs brushing away my tears before they could fall. Then he pressed his lips to mine.
“I am glad, Roana,” he murmured against my lips. “I didn’t know that loving you feels like rebirth.”
Something inside my chest collapsed. My heart sank with a sudden, terrifying weight. His kiss deepened, turning desperate, restrained, as if he were trying to carve himself into my soul. I didn’t understand. Fear and longing tangled painfully inside
“Rye.” I commanded shakily, even as his mouth explored mine with quiet urgency. “Try to see the future.”
“I love you.” Cassian whispered.
Just as Rye tried to use our power and my eyes began turning purple, a pair of arms suddenly wrapped around my shoulders
and knees.
“Goodbye. Cassian’s voice was feathery, too light as his breathe brushed against my skin, “Live well!”
“What? No!!!”
Time froze. My vision blurred violently, and scenes of the future flooded my mind like shattered frames of a movie.
A deafening burst. A massive flame consuming the entire building. And Cassian—
“No!” I screamed as my head spun violently. “Draken! Take him! Draken… save him!” I cried, fists pounding weakly against Draken’s chest as he held me firmly in his arms.
