A dozen or so powered humans were laughing maniacally, but Snake Man’s face turned grim, a chill running down his spine as he sensed danger all around him.

Especially that boy who looked only eight or nine years old. He was clearly low–level, yet he made Snake Man’s heart skip a beat.

Since the apocalypse, Snake Man had only ever felt this way about one other person. “Stop laughing. The enemy’s tougher than they look. Get ready for a fight.”

Once Snake Man said that, his companions immediately sobered up and stopped laughing. “Boss, you handle that powerful guy. Leave the rest to the mutant boars and us,” one of the men said.

Snake Man shot Jagger a look, nodded, and was just about to attack.

“You’ll be fighting me.” As a crisp, pleasant voice echoed through the air, everyone’s attention snapped toward the source.

At the center of everyone’s gaze stood a girl around eighteen or nineteen, dressed in a spotless white tracksuit. Her skin looked soft as porcelain, and her lips were a natural, vivid red.

Even without a hint of makeup, she was breathtaking.

She and Mindy were two totally different types of beauties. She looked pure and innocent, while Mindy was hot and sexy.

The moment Chloe showed up, everyone in the base finally relaxed and broke into cheers.

The base chief is back! The base chief is back!”

“The base chief is finally back! We’re saved!”

The relieved cheers finally broke through the suffocating tension that had been hanging over everyone.

Some burst into laughter, others broke down in tears, and only now did people finally dare to push around, helping people.

All over the ground, people lay scattered. Some had been scared unconscious, some were weak from blood toes, and others had collapsed from the heat.

Just as they were about to carry the injured to the clinic, they suddenly remembered the mutant boars huking behind them, eyes locked on them like a predator.

The mutant boars seemed to sense danger, raising their heads and letting out a wary grunt. Its long, thin bristles stood on

end.

Out of nowhere, a figure moved like the wind. Everyone barely had time to blink before the first mutant boar’s neck was slashed clean through, blood spraying everywhere. Then the second, the third.

In just three seconds, eight mutant boars were already lying in pools of blood, and only then did everyone finally snap out of their shock.

Snake Man’s eyes were wide with rage. He’d busted his ass to get all twenty mutant boars under his control.

And now, eight were taken out in seconds. He was so pissed off that he nearly lost his mind. “Damn it!” He lashed his long tail in the figure.

‘How dare you touch my wife, and I’ll kill you!” Jagger shouted. He gripped his thousand–pound mace with both hands and brought it crashing down on King Cobra’s weak spot.

Phantom Zombie was his weakness. He wouldn’t even raise his voice to her, and now he couldn’t stand this damn snake

urting her.

agger moved fast, catching the King Cobra off guard as he slammed his mace right into its weak spot, leaving a deep crater.

The King Cobra hissed in pain, and its glowing red slit eyes filled with murderous rage. The tail instantly coiled around agger, trying to strangle him for daring to mess with it.

Suddenly, a cold chill shot down the King Cobra’s spine, making it freeze for just a moment.

And in that split second, Jagger was gone from its tail, vanished without a trace.

Then, two figures suddenly appeared about 30 feet away.

agger was being carried bridal style by the Phantom Zombie, his head snuggled against her chest, acting all clingy.

I knew you were the best, babe,” Jagger grinned, sneaking a cheeky grope at the Phantom Zombie’s chest.

The Phantom Zombie kept her face blank, shot him a deadpan glance, as if acknowledging him.

Babe, this is a girl’s important spot. No one else gets to touch it, you hear me?” Jagger said.

The Phantom Zombie glanced at her own chest, a hint of confusion flickering in her eyes. Then she looked at Jagger, naking it obvious what she meant.

I–I’m your husband‘ I’m not like those other guys. I’m allowed to touch you, but nobody else can. Jagger insisted

The Phantom Zombie still kept her face blank.

Jagger was over the moon. He never expected the Phantom Zombie to actually answer him

He rubbed his face against her chest, acting all clingy. “You’re the best, babe.”

Everyone was stunned by this bizarre scene.

Especially the underlings from the bandit crew. They all covered their faces with their right hands, pretending they had no dea who Jagger was.

They all thought, ‘Talk about embarrassing.‘

The King Cobra was furious, flicking its tongue in frustration.

I’m in the middle of a life–or–death battle with you guys! And you’re acting all lovey–dovey?‘ the King Cobra thought. ‘Are ‘ou kidding me? They’re treating me like I’m nothing. What a freaking insult.‘

The King Cobra flicked its long tongue, letting out a shrill hiss. The mutant boars heard it, their eyes turning blood–red as hey lunged at the people with their mutated fangs bared.

The King Cobra didn’t hold back. It launched another attack.

t raised its tail high, ready to smash into the crowd, but out of nowhere, a vine whipped out and coiled tightly around it.

The King Cobra’s pupils blew wide in disbelief, and it said, “Wait, how do you know my name?”

Everyone knew this was a battle for powered humans. No way could they get involved. Their top priority was to protect themselves and not make things worse.
