Chloe rode the tornado beneath her feet, dodging at the last second. Suddenly, she felt a surge of danger and instinctively tilted her head aside.

A cold touch swept past her. It was actually a palm–sized green snake.

‘A snake?‘ Chloe thought. Her gaze sharpened as she shot her eyes downward.

A horde of snakes suddenly appeared inside the base, streaming endlessly through the main gate.

“My children. Devour them all!” the King Cobra’s chilling voice thundered from above, and the eyes of the snakes flooding in glowed an eerie green.

As soon as they caught the scent of humans, the snakes went wild, writhing and lunging at the survivors, crazed with hunger.

Frank and the others had just finished off Andrew’s crew and the mutant boars, but now a whole new wave of snakes was pouring in.

They must not have been able to climb over the walls, so they all came through the main gate.

Luckily, the gate was only about 13 feet wide, so even with the snakes flooding in nonstop, they could manage fine.

Whenever the snakes swarmed in, Mindy was right at the front, her flames blazing at over three thousand degrees.

Whenever her fire roared, the crackling and popping were quickly followed by the mouthwatering aroma of grilled meat drifting through the air.

Jagger burst out laughing and jumped out from the Phantom Zombie’s embrace. “The prey’s coming right to our door! Honey, just wait. I’m off to grab some snacks for you!”

The mutant snake swarms were just low–level ones that the King Cobra had hastily rounded up from the area. One wave after another, they all got wiped out by Mindy and her crew.

The King Cobra couldn’t help but feel a pang of distress watching his minions get slaughtered.

When the King Cobra spotted Mindy’s blazing flames down below, it narrowed its eyes dangerously.

With a powerful whip of its long tail, it sent a deadly strike. One hit and Mindy would be toast.

But right at the last second, an ice wall sprang up, blocking the lethal attack. Right after, a mini tornado spun out like a high- speed drill, barreling straight for King Cobra’s weak spot.

She spun an ice blade between her fingers, flashing a smile so stunning that it could bring the battlefield to a standstill. “Guess it’s time to show you what I’m really made of,” the King Cobra said. With a furious hiss, it shot its massive body straight at Chloe, attacking her once again.

Chloe was just about to strike back when she saw a sudden glint in those huge slit–pupiled eyes. Something clicked in her mind, and she tried to shift. But she was just a moment too slow.

Green venom sprayed on her, eating through her clothes and revealing patches of her vulnerable skin.

Her face darkened, the tornado beneath her feet vanished, and she crashed hard to the ground.

“Chloe!” Everyone’s eyes went wide in panic. They wanted to rush over and help, but wave after wave of mutant snakes kept coming at them, making it impossible to break away and rescue him.

The King Cobra burst out laughing, throwing its head back as it saw its trick work.

He slowly transformed back into his human form and walked up to Chloe. “Not bad, but you’re just not in my league…” But before he could finish, something unbelievable happened.

Chloe, battered and bruised, suddenly vanished right where she was. Before Andrew could even react, a chill shot down his spine.

He looked down in shock and saw an ice spike as thick as an arm piercing straight through his back and into his heart.

He whipped his head around, only to see Chloe standing behind him, smiling sweetly. There wasn’t a hint of the poison left on her.

“No way… This can’t be happening…” Andrew stammered, his voice shaking with disbelief. With a heavy thud, he crashed to the ground.

Chloe scoffed, “Too bad for you. I’m immune to your poison.”

After the apocalypse, Chloe had consumed countless rare herbs and magical resources, and with her healing ability, she’d long since become immune to any poison.

She’d only pretended to be poisoned, just to trick Andrew into letting his guard down.

Chloe glanced around and saw the snake horde still hadn’t dispersed. She conjured another ice blade as thick as an arm. ready to finish Andrew off for good.

But just as she was about to strike, Andrew suddenly shifted back into his King Cobra form, and the ice blade stabbed right above his weak spot.

Now that he was back in snake form, the ice blade wasn’t enough. It could leave him badly injured, but not finish him off.

“I… will kill you,” the King Cobra growled, his voice trembling with fury. It gasped for breath, blood gushing from the spot above its weak point.
