After leaving, Janice immediately called Wade, but he didn't answer. She thought he probably hadn't reached home yet.

But all the recent things—especially the wedding dress matter—kept gnawing at her. She felt the unbearable sting of being unfairly slandered, and she couldn't tolerate even a bit of it.

She had to confront Wade face-to-face and make him see clearly that she never intended to marry him, nor did she do any of those shady things.

She called three times straight, but he still didn't answer.

Janice, known for her fiery temper, jumped into her car and sped straight to Wade's house.

He had bought a place in Eldoria a couple of years ago, not far from his training base.

Both issues needed to be cleared up to avoid any more complications.

Janice had a bold and straightforward personality.

She drove straight to Wade's place. She had been here before. When Wade was home on leave, she had occasionally visited him.

The security guard let her car in easily.

Once outside his apartment, she called again, but there was still no answer.

Janice decided to go upstairs. After reaching the ninth floor, she knocked on the door.

Coming to Wade's house didn't feel strange. After all, she had been here many times before. Plus, solving problems mattered more than etiquette now.

There was still no response.

Janice thought Wade must be out. She turned to head downstairs and wait.

Of course, she knew Wade's door code.

His codes were all the same—the day he passed his pilot exam. It was a day he valued deeply.

Though she knew, she had no intention of entering. Given how things were between them, it felt rude to use the code.

Just as she turned away, the door opened behind her.

"Wade, you're back?"

Janice turned and saw Alicia.

Alicia had just finished showering. Her hair was wrapped in a towel, and she looked completely at ease in Wade's home.

Janice had felt like an outsider then, intruding on them. She remembered it vividly.

"Is Wade home?" Janice's expression was cold. She didn't want to answer Alicia's question.

Alicia glanced at the time. "He just called and said he's almost off work. If it's urgent, you can come in and wait."

Janice thought about how she had called Wade so many times but got no response. Yet, he had time to call Alicia and report to her?

He wasn't at all concerned whether Janice's calls were urgent, despite receiving so many of them.

"No need." Janice refused and turned to leave.

As if remembering something, she looked back at Alicia.

The latter smiled at her.

Janice said each word deliberately, "Even a real sister knows to keep some distance from her brother and wouldn't come to his house acting like the lady of the house. You're not even his real sister.

"If you can't keep this basic boundary, I think you're either intentionally crossing lines or just stupid. Of course, if you don't care what others think, then just consider me speaking out of turn."
