Chapter 160 Tucking Me Into His Embrace
Leonardo’s POV:

I didn’t really want Natalie to reopen these old wounds. My father was rigid and strict, and he might not be as fully accepting of her past as the rest of the family. Moreover, I knew these were wounds in her heart that hadn’t fully healed.
I had already learned most of the details through Aaron. But even though I knew Natalie was the victim, hearing her talk firsthand about being deceived and used made my heart feel tight, a dull, indescribable ache spreading through it. I wasn’t upset about it; I just felt pure heartache for her.
Natalie’s POV:
But even though Leonardo tried to stop me with his eyes, I insisted on speaking. I had to face this myself. Leonardo kept holding my hand tightly, standing by my side, his steady presence supporting me.
My tone was unusually calm, as if narrating a story unrelated to me. Yet Fiona and Miranda listened with their hearts gripped tightly, unable to imagine I had endured such awful experiences. Even the good- natured Roger couldn’t hold back his indignation, growling, “That bastard! He is a disgrace among werewolves!”
“Natalie, you’ve suffered so much all these years.” Miranda’s eyes were slightly red. “But from now on, with Leonardo here, no one can bully you anymore. Perhaps this is the Moon Goddess’ compensation for you,” she said, her voice soft with sympathy.
Fiona’s expression was grave as she asked directly, “Is the Richardson family still bothering you? Let Leonardo handle it. They must be taught a lesson!”
“You are too kind,” Ryan finally said after a long silence.
Ryan’s POV:
After hearing Natalie clarify that there was no actual mate bond with Landon, my expression softened. slightly compared to during the banquet, but I still wasn’t comfortable.
Although Natalie was the victim and didn’t intentionally hide her past, she was still entangled with an Alpha for years. Now, completing the mate bond with Leonardo so quickly couldn’t guarantee there wouldn’t be lingering issues. Besides, the Sanchez family had no obligation to seek revenge on another pack for a woman.
“Ryan! Don’t say that. Natalie was deceived! If I went through all that, I wouldn’t want to talk about it easily either.” Miranda, who usually deferred to me, didn’t hesitate to defend Natalie now. She had no biological children of her own and already saw Leonardo and Natalie as her own.
“That’s not what I meant.” I looked up, my gaze sharp as I stared at Natalie, my voice cold and hard. “Natalie, since you and Leonardo are truly meant to be together, you’d better cut off all ties to your past— clean and thorough. The Sanchez family won’t take responsibility for your past, and we won’t step in either. Got it?”
My implication was clear: the Sanchez family wouldn’t get involved in her grudge against the Thorn Pack.

If she truly cared about Leonardo, she should drop any thought of using him-or the Silver-Maned Pack’s clout-to settle her own old scores.
“Ryan! She is your son’s wife!” My mother immediately expressed her displeasure.
My father also chimed in, “Ryan, why did you say such discouraging things? It only adds to the children’s troubles.”
“Thank you, but you don’t need to worry,” Natalie actually spoke up before Leonardo could, her tone firm. “I will handle my own matters myself. It’s not worth getting Leonardo’s hands dirty for this.
Natalie’s POV:
I understood Ryan completely. In alliance marriages between top werewolf families, profit was always the top priority, not handling someone’s emotional entanglements.
“Dad, Natalie has never asked me to do anything for her regarding this.” No sooner had I finished speaking than Leonardo interjected, his voice steady but carrying undeniable force, “But your prejudice and doubts toward her today disappoint me.”
He looked directly at his father, the Alpha pressure contained within his words subtly overshadowing even Ryan’s.
“What did you say?” Ryan was taken aback. His face instantly clouded with anger. Although their father-son relationship was never particularly close, Leonardo deeply respected his elders. Even with major disagreements, he had never openly defied him like this, especially not in front of me.
“Leonardo, don’t…” I didn’t want him to clash with his father because of me. But seeing the unyielding heaviness in his brow when he turned to me, my heart tightened along with it.
“I will protect my mate. I can handle my affairs myself. There’s no need for you to be concerned.” Leonardo’s tone was detached yet resolute. After speaking, he took my hand to leave. “It’s late. We’re going
