“Ms. Anderson, this way, please. We have a prime VIP booth upstairs for you.” The manager respectfully guided me to the exclusive section, where dedicated staff were already waiting at the booth entrance.

I’d received the auction invitation a while ago. I was not huge into jewelry, but Fiona and Miranda had given me so many gifts. I wanted to return the favor, so I decided to come browse discreetly. The organizers knew I was coming and were extremely attentive.

The auction hadn’t started yet. I’d just sat down when a server brought over an electronic catalog. “Just so you know, I’m here anonymously today,” I mentioned while looking through it. The place was full of big shots. I was here to buy, not to socialize.

The manager nodded. “You have our word. No one will know you were here.” They were just as keen to avoid any scene.

I quickly picked out my jewelry. It was a top-tier emerald necklace with a bold design, perfect for Fiona’s style, and a pair of rare pink diamond earrings, beautiful and luxurious but with a playful touch, much like Miranda. Price wasn’t an issue.

As soon as the bidding started, my chosen items were given priority. I didn’t hold back, snapping up the emerald necklace right away.

Landon’s POV:

The auction had barely begun when some mysterious big spender paid a huge price for a top- tier necklace, instantly grabbing everyone’s attention. The room buzzed with whispers.

A man said, “I heard a major player is here today, starting the bids so aggressively.”

Another asked, “From Maritime City’s top tiers? The Moon-Shadowed Pack? The Silver-Maned Pack?”

Hearing Moon-Shadowed Pack made my heart skip a beat. I instinctively looked across at the VIP section, but the curtains were drawn, and werewolf guards stood stiffly. I couldn’t see a thing. If it really was the Moon-Shadowed Pack heiress, starting with a top-grade emerald necklace showed her impeccable taste.

I was lost in thought when Aaliyah tugged my sleeve. “This one’s nice. I really like it,” she said, pointing to the pink diamond earrings. They weren’t as pricey as the emerald, but they were super rare. She looked at me, her face full of hope.

“They’re pretty good,” I said, glancing at them. But my mind was on the Moon-Shadowed Pack heiress. Her voice that day sounded young, a lot like Natalie’s. These earrings would look amazing on Natalie.

Thinking that, I raised my paddle and bid. Immediately, the bidder from the VIP booth countered, upping the price by three million dollars. It was indeed the mysterious big spender. I couldn’t help but stand up, trying to get a clearer view across the way.

Natalie’s POV:

Using binoculars, I saw who was bidding. It was Landon, with Aaliyah sitting right next to him. How devoted! With their home and company in chaos, they still had the leisure to attend an auction together.

I hadn’t had the energy to deal with the Richardson family lately. After revealing that Aaliyah and Nathan were biologically related, I thought the Richardson family would have kicked both Aaliyah and Nathan out of Maritime City. I thought Landon and Aaliyah’s “unbreakable love” would cause a huge mess.

It seemed I had underestimated how despicable this family could be. They were all the same, a nest of vipers, sticking together. They were probably all reunited now.

A cold glint flashed in my eyes. I immediately called the manager over and pointed subtly in Landon’s direction.

Unsurprisingly, I also secured the pink diamond earrings with a generous bid. Landon only contested for one round before giving up.

Landon’s POV:

If it really was the Moon-Shadowed Pack heiress, I couldn’t outbid her anyway. But my attention was completely stuck on the mysterious person in the booth. I had no focus left for any other items.

Aaliyah sighed, disappointed, “Such bad luck. I really liked those earrings.”

“You liked them?” I was a little surprised.

“Yeah! Weren’t you bidding on them for me just now?” Aaliyah froze, realizing she’d gotten the wrong idea. Thinking I was being sweet, she leaned her whole body against me and linked her arm with mine.

“We’re here today to pick a gift for the Scott Group investor. There’s no room in the budget for you,” I said flatly. The words instantly made Aaliyah’s face pale.
