Leonardo finally revealed his real intention. He let me go. The look in his eyes was no longer gloomy but tinged with a faint smile.

“So that’s what you were leading up to,” I said, amused. “So if we move, you won’t be angry anymore?”

“Yes.” He nodded seriously, his voice gentle. “I don’t want anyone disturbing us.”

“Okay.” I looked at him. Seeing his expression soften under the light, my heart felt completely at peace.

Later, I eagerly showed Leonardo the jewelry I had won at the auction. One piece was for Fiona, the other for Miranda. I chose them based on my own taste and wasn’t sure if they’d like them.

Leonardo, however, didn’t seem very interested in the jewels. His gaze kept drifting back to my face.

He said, “Whatever you choose, they’re bound to like it.”

I looked up, meeting his intense stare, and pressed my lips together slightly. “Is there any Alpha leader in Maritime City smoother with words than you?”

“I wouldn’t know about that.” Leonardo leaned close to my ear, gently brushing my hair aside. “But there’s definitely no one more infatuated with you than I am,” he whispered.

My breath hitched, my cheeks instantly burning. How could Leonardo always make such blushingly romantic words sound so utterly natural!

Leonardo’s POV:

I said, “By the way, I found what you were looking for.” Time flew when I was with Natalie, making me forget business. I got up and handed her a file. It was about Penelope and Samuel.

Natalie was acting openly, while they were in the shadows. Naturally, it was hard for her to handle them. Their backgrounds and private lives were very secretive. Even using considerable resources, I only uncovered part of the story, mostly on Samuel.

According to the information, Penelope was the second daughter of the Watson family. She was doted on but received few resources. She had used any means necessary to fight for a

voice in the pack, making many enemies. She only secured her position in the pack after. bonding with Alexander. So she would never give up leadership of the Moon-Shadowed Pack.

Samuel was different. It turned out Penelope had adopted him when he was five and kept him by her side. He worked hard for Moon-Shadowed Pack mostly out of gratitude.

But one point was particularly noteworthy. Samuel’s biological parents were once accused of stealing the Watson family trade secrets. They died in a sudden car accident before their sentencing. After their deaths, Penelope personally adopted Samuel and brought him with h when she became part of the Moon-Shadowed Pack.

Logically, Samuel’s parents were just high-ranking werewolves, not particularly close to Penelope. Even later, when Alexander couldn’t have children due to illness, there was no real need for Penelope to adopt a five-year-old pup.

Natalie asked, “You’re suggesting their deaths might be connected to Penelope?” This was indeed big news. Natalie grew interested, her body leaning closer to me instinctively.

Seeing her draw near, I lowered my head. My lips almost touched hers before I said slowly, “Penelope doesn’t do anything without a motive. There are no details available to investigate in the case of Samuel’s parents. What do you think? Does that seem suspicious?”

Natalie’s POV:

We were discussing serious business, but his voice was overly magnetic. He drew out the last few words slowly. My gaze drifted uncontrollably to his throat.

Leonardo suddenly turned his head, looking like he was about to kiss me.

I blinked, holding my breath, and said, “I think… probably yes.”

Leonardo narrowed his eyes, his breathing growing slightly heavier. My compliant tone and flushed cheeks were probably tempting to him.

“But we don’t really need to worry about that. Samuel himself is very meticulous.” I felt him leaning closer, my voice growing softer. “I…”

Before I could finish the words, Leonardo’s kiss landed as expected. It was gentle and restrained, carefully touching the corner of my mouth before softly sucking on my lower lip.

“You didn’t know about the Scott Group’s investment in the Richardson Group, did you?” Just as I was flushed and breathless, almost drowning in the sensation, Leonardo’s words pulled my
