That morning, just as I reached my office door, I saw Lily coming out, looking somewhat flustered.

“Lily? Were you looking for me?” I was confused, seeing her emerge

from my

office.

“Yes, Natalie.” Lily’s eyes darted around nervously. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”

I suddenly remembered her hesitant manner the night before last. “Is this about what you wanted to tell me the other night?” I asked.

Lily nodded. “Yes.”

“Okay, let’s go inside and talk.” I was about to push the office door open when Samuel appeared from the other end of the hallway.

Seeing Samuel, Lily immediately looked down, avoiding his gaze.

“Good morning, Natalie,” Samuel said.

I instantly put on a professional smile and said, “Good morning, Mr. Scott.”

“There’s a routine meeting you need to attend. We’re voting on a few company decisions. It’ll be quick.” Samuel’s gaze swept over my face, then glanced at Lily. He added, “Everyone is waiting.”

“Okay. I’ll be right there.” After sending Samuel away, I turned back to Lily. “I’ll be back soon.”

“Natalie.” Lily suddenly grabbed my arm. “You need to be careful around Samuel and Victoria. And… don’t work yourself too hard from now on. Your health is the most important thing.”

This put me on alert. I asked, “Lily, what’s wrong? It sounds like you’re saying goodbye?”

“No. I’m just worried about you.” Lily quickly averted her eyes. “I need to get to work!” With that, she ran off before I could respond.

I was puzzled. But before I could think more about it, Samuel’s assistant came to hurry me to the meeting.

After the meeting, I went straight to find Lily, only to discover her workstation had been cleared out. I quickly asked other team members. They all looked just as confused.

One of them said, “Lily bought us coffee this morning. Then we went to a project meeting. She said she was going to the restroom and never came back.

“When we returned after the meeting, we found she’d cleared out all her things. It looked like she was quitting.”

My heart sank. I tried calling Lily immediately, but my phone received a resignation notification instead-initiated by Lily.

How could this be? I knew very well how much she needed this job. I called her right back, but it already didn’t go through.

Back in my office, I found Lily’s resignation letter on my desk. I opened it. It was filled with words of gratitude towards me. She claimed she was leaving for personal reasons, but found it hard to say goodbye in person, hence the letter.

I felt awful. Lily wasn’t the type to leave without a word. Thinking back to her strange behavior at the Thompson family dinner, I had just assumed she was unwell and didn’t think much of it. Now it seemed I hadn’t been attentive enough.

I didn’t approve of her resignation. I sent her a message, “Whatever is happening, I hope you trust me enough to talk to me face-to-face.”

Landon’s POV:

Grace was shocked. “You… you’re telling me Natalie already knows about you and Aaliyah?”

In the living room of the Richardson Villa, all the Richardsons looked grim. I had been beaten badly last night. I spent the night at the hospital getting patched up and put on an IV. Aaliyah stayed with me the whole night. We only returned home this morning.

Of course, I didn’t tell anyone I was beaten by the male werewolf with Natalie. To save face, I just said I had a dispute with Natalie and got into a conflict with the residential security. Not even Aaliyah knew what really happened.

It wasn’t until now that I revealed Natalie knew the truth. Even Aaliyah was shocked.

“Yes.” My face was gloomy. I took a deep breath and added, “She threatened me. She wants half of the Richardson Group shares transferred to her within three days. Otherwise, she’ll go public about Aaliyah and me.”

“She’s insane!” Grace shrieked. “Does she really think the Thorn Pack is so easy to threaten? Since when does every Tom, Dick, and Harry think they can lay claim to what’s ours?” She said this, shooting a meaningful glance at Aaliyah.
