Chapter 191 Terrible Reputation
Liam’s POV:
I was taken aback for a second. My lips parted slightly, and my gaze, full of confusion, instinctively settled on Chloe. She, however, looked down, avoiding my eyes.

Chloe was one of the heiresses to the Kelly family. So why was she working in a club and wearing a uniform at that?
Before I could gather my thoughts, Amelia Marshall, beside me, said with a smile, “Oh, so you’re Eleanor, the Kelly family’s daughter?”
“That’s right,” Eleanor replied, her tone light and deliberately sweet. “And you must be Amelia, Liam’s fiancée. My father mentioned you. I believe our families had dinner together once.”
Chloe’s POV:
I felt a twitch between my brows. I couldn’t help but glance at the woman next to Liam out of the corner of my eye. I’d heard he was seeing someone new. I didn’t want to know anything about his life, but Eleanor always made sure I knew.
“Oh, really! Now that you mention it, it does ring a bell,” Amelia said, clearly pleased. She immediately linked arms with Eleanor and followed her into the club.
I kept my head lowered the entire time.
As Liam passed by me, his steps hesitated for a brief moment.
Liam’s POV:
I couldn’t stop myself from asking her quietly, “What are you doing here? The manager?” My eyes fell on the name tag pinned to Chloe’s chest.
She was the manager of this club. But even if she wanted to work for the Kelly Group, she didn’t have to start at the bottom as a club manager, did she?
“None of your business,” Chloe retorted coldly, not even granting me a glance.
I opened my mouth to say more. But seeing her dismissive attitude, I forced the words back down.

Only after they had moved further away did I let out a soft, shaky breath. My face remained expressionless.
1 gathered the gifts and snacks according to the order and arranged them on trays. I was about to have a server take them in when Eleanor came out again.
She urged, “Chloe, why are you so slow? I said you’re personally attending to our VIP guests today. Get in there.”
“I need to mind the club. Send someone else,” I said, shooting her a cold look.
“Liam is an old friend of yours. No one else can serve him as well as you can,” Eleanor said, deliberately hitting a nerve. “Besides, Liam has many friends here today. They specifically asked for you.”
“Or maybe,” she added, her voice dripping with mockery, “you’re afraid you can’t control yourself in front of your crush and might embarrass yourself?”
I reached my limit. My hand jerked up instinctively. This time, Eleanor was ready and dodged back quickly.
“Eleanor,” I said, glaring at her, “don’t push me. If I go down, I’m taking you with me.”
Eleanor’s POV:
Chloe was so violent! She had no grace whatsoever for a lady from a good family.
Her aggressive stance made me flinch a little. But then I remembered the club was full of my people. With no outsiders around, she couldn’t gain the upper hand. My confidence returned.
“Chloe,” I said coolly, “don’t forget the agreement you made with Dad. I’m in charge here. If you don’t want to work, you can leave. But the evaluation period is almost up. If you can’t even last in your own family’s club, well, you can forget about your mother’s inheritance.”
My words hit their mark. She clenched her fists, biting her lower lip silently.
We stood there, locked in a stare-down, neither yielding. My eyes challenged her. Finally, she let out a scornful laugh. “Fine. Serving them, right? Since you’re so eager for a show, keep your eyes wide open.”
She picked up the tray and turned to enter the private room. A smirk touched my lips as I followed her in.
The atmosphere in the private room was lively. It was Amelia’s birthday. She was a regular at Grayclaw Pack’s entertainment center, and Liam had probably chosen this place to please her.
