Chapter 367 Never Escape My Grasp
Aaliyah’s POV:
I said, “Of course, I can…”

“Will you betray me like she did?” Landon’s icy voice poured into my ear, vibrating through my
heart.
My scalp prickled with an inexplicable urge to retreat. I swallowed before answering, “I won’t betray you. I’m not like Natalie.”
Before my words even finished, Landon captured my lips, his tongue invading my mouth. He gave me no chance to struggle, roughly tearing my clothes open.
His actions were more violent, more relentless than ever before. There was no tender foreplay, only pure conquest and release.
I felt an illusion of being ripped apart, as if I were merely a tool for his venting.
Yet, I complied and endured throughout. I was searching for any trace of his former tenderness toward me, something to hold onto.
Whatever happened in the past, I truly wanted to make things work with him now.
Landon’s POV:
Though Aaliyah was beneath me, the image burning in my mind was of another woman, naked.
It was Natalie.
Unless I died, I would eventually grind her to dust, bones and all.
My woman, even as a ghost, would never escape my grasp.
Aaliyah’s POV:
The next day, I got up early and dove straight into work.
This trip to Maritime City had a lot of business to take care of, the most important being finalizing the location for the new branch office.
I spent the morning comparing several properties Cameron had shortlisted, discussed them with him in a remote meeting, and successfully settled on a site.

Truthfully, these matters didn’t need me to handle them personally. Cameron’s team had already decided on them. This was just a formality to keep me involved and maintain communication.
After the meeting, Cameron asked about my family matters.
Since the night he confessed his feelings, I’d become evasive when I looked at him. My answers to such questions weren’t as direct as before, either.
I thought for a moment before replying, “The funeral is over, but there are still some family matters to settle. I might need to stay in Maritime City a few more days.”
I was actually in a pretty good mood today.
I had prepared myself to return empty-handed, but reconciling with Landon had happened faster than expected.
Though he hadn’t mentioned reinstating our bond yet, I believed that with enough patience, he had no reason not to reconcile with me.
I certainly didn’t want to neglect my career over this.
I’d thought it through. If necessary, I could split my time between cities. Or, once Landon was in a better state, I could bring him to Kaelis City with me.
But unexpectedly, Cameron wasn’t in a hurry. “That’s fine. I was actually going to tell you that the branch project is finalized. You can stay in Maritime City and oversee the initial phase.”
Hearing this lifted my spirits. “Great! What’s the project?”
“I’ve sent you the details. It’s still in the renewable energy sector, but this time we have a partner. Maritime City’s leading pharmaceutical giant, Scott Pharmaceutical Group.” Cameron’s voice came through the receiver, steady and calm, as if discussing the weather.
The moment he finished, I understood. “The Scott Group, right?” I had missed the summit and the chance to meet their people last time due to the Richardson family drama, which I regretted.
Hearing that the Scott Group was our partner now filled me with pleasant surprise. With the backing of the Scott Group’s vast commercial empire in Maritime City, Gallop Energy’s project would proceed smoothly. It would be much easier for me to establish the branch and lay a new foundation for Landon and our future home.
Gallop Energy had always been solid in energy technology, which aligned perfectly with the Scott Group’s latest investment focus.
Ever since planning to expand into Maritime City, Cameron had intended to approach the

It was just that Gallop Energy’s processes were notoriously slow. It had taken until now to finalize the branch and the new direction.
“Yes. I’ve arranged a dinner for you tonight with the Scott Group’s project lead. My representative will meet you tomorrow morning to accompany you to the Scott Group for the contract signing.” Cameron’s tone was so casual that it made me wonder if we were just chatting.
A deal this significant with the Scott Group, and he had settled it with just a phone call?
I had been completely in the dark until now.
Was Cameron incredibly composed, or just deeply calculating? Guarding information so closely, even from those close to him, until things were done?
Still, I was thrilled. When I returned home to change, I immediately shared the good news with Landon.
“You’re saying Gallop Energy is partnering with the Scott Group?” Since our reconciliation, Landon’s condition had visibly improved. He was eating and sleeping normally again, looking much more alive than before.
When I arrived, he had just showered. His tall frame was bare except for a towel wrapped around his waist.
He had lost weight these past days, his collarbones and jawline starkly defined. Yet this gauntness added a sharp, decadent edge to his masculine Alpha aura.
His once soft, charming eyes were now sunken, accentuating the defined sharpness and refinement of his features. His appearance had a new kind of beauty-fragile and dangerous.
