Chapter 32 Blocked
On the other hand, everyone around her knew who Skyla was.
Bria, annoyed, snapped, “A dog is still a dog. Who else could it be?”

Renee finally understood. This woman did not get along with Bria. In that case, she did not want to poke the bear. “Let’s hit a different shop.”
The more Bria thought about it, the angrier she got.
No way. She was going to go to her brother’s place tonight, make a scene, force him to take this seriously, and really put Ayla in her place.
But she would have to wait until the evening, since Troy was not home right now.
Ayla punched in six “1“s, and Draven’s door lock clicked open.
It must have been the default password, and he had not changed it.
Westhaven was riverfront property in central Trensea, extremely well–known online, with one of the best security systems in the country.
From the main gate to the front door, there were multiple checkpoints, so breaking in was basically impossible.
Suddenly, Ayla understood why Draven gave her this errand. It was simply convenient.
She stopped by her own place, grabbed a clean pair of shoe covers, then stepped into the apartment next door.
The layout was identical. Ayla’s place leaned minimalist, but Draven’s was even more stripped down–big blocks of black, white, and gray, no signs of anyone actually living there yet.
Ten–plus tightly sealed boxes were stacked in the living room. He really had just moved in.
Ayla found scissors in the kitchen, unwrapped the glass cups, and set them on the display shelf.
There was still a lot of empty space, and she wondered if he would eventually fill it up piece by piece.
When she finished, it was only two in the afternoon. She needed to head back to the office, but then her phone rang. It was Blake.

“Blake?”

Blake said, “Once you’re done with what the boss gave you, you don’t need to come back in.”
Ayla did not get it. “Why?”
Blake said, “No reason. Just work arrangements. Consider today an external errand day.”
Before Draven returned to the office, the whole secretary department had already worked overtime for a week and cleared out all the backlog. It actually made sense, so Ayla did not overthink it and happily accepted the instruction.
After hanging up, Blake looked at Will in confusion. “Everything’s arranged like you asked. But why, exactly?”
Well, because Draven told him casually to do it.
Will did not really know either. “The boss’s task was important. Once it’s done, it’s basically the end of the day. No need for her to run back.”
Blake accepted that and stopped asking.
Ayla hung up. Since she was on external duty, she could slack a bit. She would use the free afternoon to nap. Her cold was mostly suppressed, but rest would keep it from coming back.
Just as she was heading out, something caught her eye.
A trench coat in the trash.
Ayla froze.
She had worn it briefly while driving last night, so she never expected Draven to toss it out immediately. It was a luxury brand, and from the condition, it was only worn once.
Draven must be a major clean freak if he could toss something that expensive without hesitation.
She could not help picturing his icy, unreadable face. Some people pretended to be cold to get attention, but Draven was cold through and through–a frozen wall of indifference.
He did not care what anyone thought. He was not performing; he genuinely felt nothing. Being around him was like sticking your hand into a freezer. If you let your guard down for a second, you would get frostbite.
Good thing she wore shoe covers before entering. Otherwise, she would have broken one of his
rules.

Bria and her friends wandered around all afternoon. After dinner, she revved her supercar and headed to Troy’s place, ready to blow things out of proportion and make him scold Ayla on the
spot.
However, as soon as she parked outside the villa and turned her head, she saw Troy and Skyla walking into the main house together.
She never expected her brother to bring Skyla home, and she did not care what they were doing inside.
However, it gave her a new idea.
The whole point of tattling was to make Troy punish Ayla, but now she did not need to bother.
Bria secretly recorded a video, hit the gas, and went off to drink with Renee.
Sitting in the corner of the bar, she sent the video to Ayla, already imagining how miserable Ayla would feel when she saw it.
But once she hit send, a red exclamation mark popped up.
Bria could not believe her eyes.
She checked again and again, and she realized she really had been blocked.
For a second, Bria could not accept what was happening.
A nanny like Ayla dared block her? What was she thinking?
Renee, chatting with another friend, turned and saw Bria’s dark expression. “What happened?”
Sure, Bria could ask someone else to send it to Ayla, just to make sure she saw it. But why go through the trouble?
“Renee, help me out.”
Renee majored in computer science. She was not great at her core coursework, but her hacking skills were impressive.
She took Bria’s phone, and within moments, the video was successfully delivered to Ayla.
