“Even if you gave me a hundred chances, I would not take a single one. I am not the one begging here. Troy, get it straight. Who is asking whom?” Ayla’s voice was cold and firm. “To me, you are nothing. Just one page I already turned. I burned it, and even the ashes are gone. Do you understand?”
Troy’s face turned paper white. He hated Ayla standing against him like this. He shouted again in warning, “Do not provoke me.”
All the way here, Ayla had been threatened and provoked by Troy. The crushing pressure of his strength scared her, and the constant intimidation piled on top of that fear, trying to force her to submit.
But enough was enough.
She did not want to be afraid anymore. She did not want to be threatened by Troy anymore.
She did not want to live in this constant unease.
That refusal rose straight from her soul. Who did Troy think he was, to press her down and bully her like this?
She had once had a mother. A mother who loved her and protected her. She was not raised to be abused by Troy.
Ayla let out a series of cold, bitter laughs. Her eyes held a calm kind of madness. She reached out and placed her hand on his face, leaning in slightly.
For a brief second, Troy felt hope.
Then Ayla’s next words struck like thunder and shattered him.
“You came to settle scores from that day at Winston Estate. But I am done playing with you. And there is no chance left.”
“What do you mean?” Troy asked hoarsely,
Ayla looked straight at him. “I am with Draven now. We are a couple. Will you bless us to last forever?”
Troy’s face went completely pale, like a dead man.
After saying it, Ayla felt no sense of revenge. It simply felt right.
Troy wanted her back so she could return to being his caretaker. She would have to be insane

Divorce alone was not enough to make Troy give up. She was still single, and her fake
relationship with Draven had stayed private because of Vivian. But now, Ayla would not hold back anymore.
She chose to work with Draven because she could not match Troy in power. She could not compete with his connections. The fastest way was to stand beside someone who could rival him.
In reality, Ayla was at a disadvantage compared to Troy. There were not many paths that could protect her. Once she found one, she would hold on tight.
Draven might have had his own plans.
But Ayla had weighed the pros and cons.
In this world, there was no man Troy hated more deeply than Draven.
Even without Draven loving her, his dislike for Troy alone was enough.
So reaching this point with Draven felt natural.
Ayla was not alone anymore. She had Draven.
Troy could be obsessive. So what? Ayla wanted to be cruel for once, and she wanted that cruelty to last.
She had suppressed herself for far too long. Troy had finally forced her out.
The car continued driving through the bright, indulgent streets of Aqualith. Ayla did not know the destination, but she felt changed. She sat in calm silence.
She knew she would leave safely. She only needed to wait.
Troy, however, was drowning in the shock.
He could not understand it. Ayla’s words were clan, not sharp like before, not aggressive like at Winston Estate, yet they were more brutal than anything she had ever said. They stabbed him deeper than a blade.
For a moment, he almost could not understand he language.
Were those really words she could say?
The pain was unbearable. This was not just about tonight. From childhood on, Troy had lived under Draven’s shadow.

Looking back now, he no longer cared about competing with Draven. He despised being forced into comparison. Now that he had proved himself, being number one did not matter
anymore.
What Troy truly wanted now was to continue life with Ayla. This was the one thing he had been completely certain of in all these years.
He had never wanted anything this badly.
Because it mattered, because it was necessary, he invested everything. He was determined to win.
This was not a trivial matter.
He valued it above all else. And it had nothing to do with Draven. It was only about him and Ayla.
So what happened?
Ayla was with Draven.
The one thing he was sure he wanted had been taken by Draven. Of all people, it had to be him.
In the end, Troy still lost. What kind of joke was this?
He could not find any trace of them these past days. Draven had hidden everything on purpose. Was he laughing at him?
Troy’s pupils darkened. Beneath his strikingly handsome face, a violent storm was raging. Sirens blared in his mind.
He had lived under pressure all his life, but he had never been in this much pain. It hurt so much he felt he might lose his mind.
Troy suddenly grabbed Ayla’s wrist. His grip was crushing, enough to break bones. He forced calm into his eyes, but cruelty showed through. Reflected there was Ayla’s composed face, while his heart plunged wildly. “Ayla,” he said tightly, “tell me the truth. Are you lying to me? Are you doing this on purpose?”
